Bender Wins First Ever Point Championship

Long time veteran racer Scott Bender won the Sprint Car Championship at Randy’s Raceway this season.  This was his first ever championship and very much deserved.  Scott had a dominating performance this year in the 6 race series, scoring 3 wins and 3 seconds.  Bender added 21 segment wins as well.  The victory on November 11th was also a career first.  He now has 33 career segment wins in a Sprinter.  We had 15 racers take a green in the class this year which returned to a more regular status with the Sportsman class going away this year.  Mark Williams wound up second in points after scoring his win on opening night back in September.  Williams now has 14 career Sprint wins for second place behind Kenny Gilmore.  Bryan Kisthardt was third in points and won his career first two features along with 20 segments.  Even with missing a show in the middle of the season he was only 3 points behind for second.  Fourth this year was a tie between Randy Haydt who won 6 segments, keeping him in 4th place all time in Sprint segment wins.  Randy’s best finish was a third on Jan 5th. And Toby Reinhard, who won 2 segments and had 3 4th place finishes.  Sixth through tenth were Billy Decker 2 segments, Brian Sponagle, Tony Zapocosta 1 segment, Cory Reinhard 1 segment, and Dave Fitzgerald 1 segment.
