Mark Williams won his second feature in a row in the Modified division taking all 8 lanes on the big oval at Randy’s Raceway.  Second spot went to veteran Manheim racer Bill Brenner driving the Beard #18 winning 1 segment.  Third spot went to Jim Levan who took 3 segments followed closely by Scott Bender with 1 segment win to his credit.  Rounding out the top five was Eric Beard winner of 3 segments.  Toby Reinhard finished 6th with Shane Hiester and Sheldon Hiester 7th and 8th and Tony Z 9th with his car owner Bill Decker 10th.

Tuesday night January 31, 2012 was the fifth race for the Sportsman and IROC divisions at Randy’s Raceway.  There were 15 racers on hand for the Sportsman portion of the night.  Randy Haydt swept the cat hair away to a two-victory night.  In the Sportsman Randy won 5 segments in route to the victory.  Second went to Fred McCullough who really has figured out the Tri-Oval.  Fred won 5 segments on the night.  Third went to point leader Shane Hiester.  Shane won 1 segment on the night.  Fourth went to Mark Williams.  Mark won 2 segments on the night in his Hiester prepared Sportsman.  Rounding out the top 5 was Sheldon Hiester.  Sheldon won 3 segments on the night.  [Read more...]

It was the 8th annual 40 lap Sprint car event and Kenny Gilmore again dominated this race winning all 8 segments on way to the win. Mark Williams scored 5 segment wins turning in 2nd place run. Sheldon Hiester had a good run scoring 2 segment wins for a 3rd place finish. Tuesday Night we were up on the Tri-Oval for the first time this season with races for the Sportsman and IROC divisions. We had 10 racers on hand that participated in each event. In the Sportsman race Fred McCullough took the victory winning 4 of his 6 segments on road to his victory. Second went to Randy Haydt who won 1 segment in his strong run on the Tri-Oval. Mark Williams won his third Modified Feature of the season and moved into the point lead, as Brett Gilmore was not in attendance.  Williams won 7 segments driving a fluoresant Pink Modified owned by Kenny Gilmore.  Shane Hiester wound up a close second as he won 6 segments in his fast #102.  Third spot went to last week’s winner Jim Levan.  Levan won 3 segments in his white coupe bodied racer.  [Read more...]

Racing action returned to the Tri-Oval at Randy’s Raceway for the 1st time this season and Shane Hiester ended a long string of top 5 runs with his 1st Cup win. Shane scored 3 segment wins on lanes 1 – 3 on way to the checked flag. Only 1 lap behind Sheldon Hiester turned in his best Cup finish of the year with a 2nd place effort, winning 3 segments. Bob Amore also turned in his best run of the year coming home with a steady 3rd place finish. Jim Levan scored his 1st Cup win of the year Tuesday night running on the Short-Track. Jim won 4 segments on way to the win. Shane Hiester turned in a solid run winning 2 segments on lanes 1 & 6 for a runner up finish. Just 2 pieces of track behind Billy Decker scored 2 segment wins turning in a good 3rd place finish. Tuesday night October 25, 2011 was the second race of the season for the Sportsman and IROC divisions at Randy’s Raceway in Kutztown.  There were 14 racers on hand.  Taking the win in the headliner was defending champion Shane Hiester.  Shane drove to the win on the Short track winning 4 segments on the night.  Second went to the always smooth running Fred McCullough.  Fred won 2 segments on the night.  Third went to Billy Decker.  Billy won 3 segments on the night coasting his way to a good run.  Fourth went to Mark Williams.  Mark won 3 segments on the night in a Hiester prepared Sportsman.  Rounding out the top 5 was Sheldon Hiester. Sheldon Hiester used consistency to record his first career Modified Feature at Randy’s Raceway.  Although he won just 1 segment he was on the lead lap every race except 1 and never had more than 2 falloffs in any segment.  The win was very well deserved and a popular win for the second-generation veteran slot car racer.  Second spot went to 2-time season winner Brett Gilmore.  [Read more...]
