Sheldon Hiester Sweeps to Cup Win

Sprint cup racing returned to the Tri-Oval Tuesday night at Randy’s Raceway and Sheldon Hiester ran his Goodwrench #29 to a convincing win. Sheldon won all 6 segments on way to his 1st Cup win of the season. Shane Hiester scored 4 segment wins turning in a good runner -up finish. Mark Williams scored 3 segment wins in his Billy Decker prepared car to collect his 1st Top5 Cup run of the year. Scott Bender was steady all night in his Cornflakes #5 on way to a 4th place finish. Jim Levan rebounded from a slow start on lane 2 to claim his 2nd straight 5th place finish.

SHANE HIESTER SCORES IROC WIN:

In the night cap it was race 2 of the IROC season running Like-Like cars and Shane Hiester scored 2 segment wins to claim his 1st IROC win of the year. Randy Haydt  scored 1 segment win for a 2nd place finish. Mark Williams had a bad run on lane 2, but came back to win his final 3 segments for a 3rd place finish. Sheldon Hiester scored 1 segment win for a 4th place run. Scott Bender also scored 1 segment win on way to a 5th place finish.

TAKE OUTS: A strange Cup event with many odd things going on. Sheldon’s Cup win made it 3 different winners in as many races. Thanks to Randy for tuning up the Life-Like IROC cars which were very good. Next week Modified racing on the 8 – lane.
