Annual Banquet Well Attended

The 12th annual Randy’s Raceway awards banquet was well attended and all had plenty of good food and fun. After the awards, which included naming the Division Point Champions and special award recipients, everyone had a great meal then a fun race on the Tub track with Road course rules. Special thanks to all who helped in anyway with the organizing, race night operations, helping fellow racers.

We really have a great group and 2013-2014 looks to be even better. And we have to really thank Randy who works hard keeping the tracks in good condition and all the behind the scenes things he does.

The road course then became the place for action and Bryan Kisthart showed again why he is a top rate road racer by taking the win on the tub track. In a close victory by 1 lap over Shane Hiester. Third went to another road racer Jim Levan followed by Fred Mccullough and Mike Fitzgerald.

Notes from the evening- It was great to get to present Bear with the Most Improved driver award, he went from 16th in Modified points to 4th this year. I also gave him a Rookie of the year award back in the 70’s at Woodland Raceway in Trooper. 22 racers stayed for the banquet race and the action was really good, not many falloffs at all really. Top 10’s for Brian V, Bear Toby, Bill B and Sheldon in addition to those fast five mentioned earlier in the article. Please watch for season review articles during the summer months and the tech sessions. The annual drivers meeting will be 6pm this Tuesday April 16th.
