Hiester Wins Sportsman / Levan Wins I R O C

Tuesday Night was the 2010-2011 season opener for the Sportsman and I R O C divisions.  The Sportsman race had 13 drivers on hand for the event.  The event was won by Shillington, PA’s Shane Hiester winning 5 of 6 segments on the Tri-Oval, missing the perfect night by only 2 track sections.  Second went to Bob Amore winning 4 segments on his way to a good run.  Third went to Mark Williams who won 2 segments and was the driver who kept Shane from his perfect night.  Fourth went to Randy Haydt who ran on the lead lap in every segment but couldn’t get the segment win.  Rounding out the top 5 was Sheldon Hiester who won 1 segment.  The Sixth through tenth finishers were: 6th- Billy Decker, 7th- John Kosmoski, 8th-Jim Levan, 9th-Brian Vanbuskirk, and 10th- Cory Reinhart.


The night capper was for the I R O C division and this race had 10 drivers running the Johnny Lightning Tuff-Ones prepared by Randy Haydt.  The cars were very well prepared and evenly matched on each lane.  The event win went to Jim Levan who won 3 of the 6 segments on the tough tri-oval. Second went to Billy Decker who ran consistent all night on his way to the 2nd place finish.  Third went to Mark Williams who won 1 segment on the evening.  Fourth went to Shane Hiester who won 2 segments on the evening.  Rounding out the top 5 was Randy Haydt who won 2 segments as well on the night.  Sixth through tenth were: 6th- Bob Amore, 7th- Toby Reinhard, 8th- Sheldon Hiester, 9th- Brian Vanbuskirk, 10th- Cory Reinhard.  The defending I R O C champ Sheldon Hiester had a rough night in his 1st chance at defending his title only finishing 8th on the night.  It was a good night of racing and a lot of fun had by all who were in attendance.
