Jim LeVan Scores First Modified Win

A good night of racing on the the Tri-Oval, as Jim Levan scored his 1st Modified win of the year. It was a “photo finish” at the wire as Jim held off  a strong run by Cory Reinhard by 1 piece of track to get the checkered flag. Jim scored 2 segment wins on lanes 2&3, while Cory scored 3 segment wins on the front 3 lanes, it was his 4th straight Top 2 finish. Less than 1 lap behind Randy Haydt ran his Miami Dolphin car to 3 segment wins but had a bad run on lane 6 and still had a good 3rd place finish. Brian Sponagle continued his good runs on the Tri-Oval, had a slow start on lanes 1&2 but came on strong winning his final 4 segments to come home 4th. It was a  “tenacious” battle for the next 3 spots as Billy Decker and “Little T” tied for the 5th spot with no one winning a segment it went to fall offs with Billy getting credit for 5th because of less fall-offs, “Little T” with a good run on the Tri-Oval was 6th, trailing both of them by just 7 pieces of track Scott Bender was 7th. Just 3 pieces of track behind Tom Wenner scored 1 segment win to finish 8th. Toby Reinhard scored 2 segment wins was 9th and Mike M. scored his best Tri-Oval finish with a solid10th place finish.

11thTonyZ, 12th Mark W(4wins), 13th Brian V, 14th Rob L, 15th James H, 16th Hiram D, 17th Larry S, 18th GeneK, 19th Joel L.

CLOSE CALLS: Another strong field of 19 racers were entered. Good to have Gene K back getting laps on the Tri-Oval who improved from his 1st time. Tony Z just missed out on a Top 10 finished 11th with not many fall offs. Jim’s win makes it 3 different winners so far in Mods. Next Week a doubleheader as the IROC season gets going on the Tub Track.
