Levan Wins First of the Season in Modified

Veteran Jim Levan made a strong showing winning all 8 segments to win the Modified feature at the Berks speedplant named Randy’s Raceway.  Levan out of Reading won his first of the season in convincing style driving his familiar #1 white and orange coupe.
Second spot went to current points leader Brett Gilmore winner of 6 segments.  Third spot in the field of 17 was Shillington’s Shane Hiester with 2 segment wins.  Fourth was the Reading racer Scott Bender in his extremely fast modified mount.  Rounding out the top five in a Sheldon Hiester backup car was Mark Williams.  The rest of the top ten was Sheldon Hiester, Billy Decker (1 win), Steven Kirshner, Toby Reinhard, and Eric Beard.

Modified Musings

Bob Amore is feeling better after a brief procedure.  Bob would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.  We missed Alex this week also.  Cory Reinhard turned in another good run winding up 12th.  Seems to be some boundary issues have creeped up again, not sure why that keeps happening.  Nice to see Randy sitting on the sidelines and keeping the falloff totals down in turn one.  Thanks to Monk for handling the flagging duties.  Hoagie sale was wrapped up and the mall show is just around the corner.  Please let us know what nights you will be able to help at the track.  The Bruce Heller memorial race is shaping up nicely and will be held at Rich Schmidt’s house on February 13th.  Sam Heller invites all to attend and many give a ways are being planned.  Proceeds will go to 2 charities in Bruce’s name.
