Mark Williams Scores First NASCAR Title

Going into this season it was going to be hard to top last season’s point battle when their was a tie for the point title and a 6 point difference behind the top 2, but this season was still very close and competitive. Mark Williams needed 2 season ending wins to secure his 1st NASCAR point title. After an opening night 6th place finish, Mark scored top 5 finishes the rest of the way, and 3 wins, locking up the title by only 15 points. Last years co-champ Sheldon Hiester turned in another strong season including 8 top 5 finishes, and 2 wins, to come home 2nd in the final standing. Bryan Kisthardt improved 3 spots, also notched 8 top 5 runs including 3 2nd place finishes for a very consistent 3rd place finish. Last year’s other co-champ Shane Hiester also turned in a good campaign scoring 1 mid season win and 6 other top 5 finishes to close out the season 4th. Improving 2 spots from last year Billy Decker scored 2 early season top 5 finishes and even gave the road course a shot which helped to Billy among the top 5.
