Modified and Sportsman Events

The mighty Modifieds took to the 8 lane super speedway for a double show.  Mark Williams won the first show with an 8 lane sweep, runnerup was Sheldon Hiester who won twice on lanes 1 and 2.  Third spot went to Corey Bailey who returned to the track and won 3 segments.  Fourth driving an Eric Beard car was promoter Randy Haydt who won 3 segments.  Rounding out the top five was Bryan Kisthart.  In the nightcap Williams once again won driving the GTB for feature win #10 this season.  Williams won 5 segments.  Second spot went to Gettysburg’s Eric Beard.  The car builder had a nice run and even with a bubble out on lane 6 won 4 segments to grab second.  Third went to Sheldon Hiester who once again won 2 segments and capped a good night with 2 top three finishes.  Fourth was Shane Hiester followed by Exeter’s BigT.  Bowers looked good in a rare start at the Kutztown track.

The Sportsman slot cars also had a double show on the schedule and used the tight Tri-Oval as the venue.  Mark Williams took both ends of the show and moved into the points lead.  Williams won the first show with 90 laps and zero falloffs,  Second was Kenny Gilmore.  Williams also won the second feature followed by veteran Mike Feltenberger.

Bill Brenner has missed some shows recently and we hope he makes it back this season which he is celebrating 50 years of racing slotcars.  Bear had some good runs earning hard fought second and third place finishes on the Tri-Oval.  We thank Randy for flagging the events.  Toby Reinhard had a tough night with his Sportsman cars.  Scott Bender left early as he was not feeling well.  Rumors have it that Roadracer Sam Heller is making a start this week as the Nascar division gets a run at the tub track.  Roadracers remember that Randy will be holding his Annual ECHORR race on the St Pattys day weekend, more info to follow.
