Sheldon Hiester Takes Win In Mods on the 8 Lane

Tuesday night January 8 was the first race of the New Year at Randy’s Raceway and it was for the Modified Division on the 8 Lane Oval.  There were 15 racers in attendance for the event, and taking the event win was veteran Sheldon Hiester, who won 3 segments on his way to the victory.  Second on the evening went to another veteran Jim Levan, who ran well and strong all night long.  Jim won 4 segments on the way to his 2nd place finish.  Coming home 3rd on the evening was Shane Hiester, who won 2 segments on the night and ran well all night long in his races.  Fourth place went to veteran slot car racer, track photographer, and flagman at local speedways Mike Feltenberger, who won 3 segments on way to his strong top 5 run.  Rounding out the top 5 was veteran Bill Brenner, of Manheim who drove the Eric Beard prepared car to a strong top 5 finish winning 1 segment on the night.  The rest of the Top 10 finished up like this: 6-Mark Williams, 7-Corey Bailey, 8-Billy Decker, 9-Toby Reinhard (1 segment win), 10-Brian Sponagle.
Tid-Bits from Tuesday Night:
Good to see rookie Brian Sponagle turn in a good Top 10 run and almost winning a segment on Lane 3 while running with some heavy hitters in that same event.  Eric Beard had a tough night after breaking a nub on his chassis during the event bringing home a 13th place finish, but he did win 2 segments during the course of the night before breaking his nub.  We seemed to have no boundary issues this week with Scott missing again, it’s funny how we have now boundary issues when Scott is absent from the event LOL.  We are back in action at Randy’s Raceway on Tuesday January 15 for a double header with the NASCAR Division on the Short Track, and the Sprint Cars on the 8 Lane Oval.
