Sheldon Hiester Wins Sportsman Tri-Oval Race

Tuesday December 18, at Randy’s Raceway had the Sportsman Division back in action on the tricky 6 lane Tri-Oval.  There were 17 drivers on hand for the event, and taking the victory was Sheldon Hiester, who won 4 segments on the night.  Finishing second in a strong run only 4 sections back of the winner was Fred McCullough, who won his first 5 segments, but then had to come back on and race Lane 1 for the last race of the evening and he got beat that race for his only segment loss which ended up taking him out of a victory.  Coming home third 11 sections back was Shane Hiester who won 4 segments on the night.  Jim Levan came home 4th and he was the person who beat Fred on the night in the segment that he lost.  Jim won 2 segments on the night.  Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Scott Bender with another strong run on the Tri-Oval.  Scott won 2 segments on the night as well.  The rest of the Top 10 finished like this: 6-Billy Decker (1 win), 7-Mark Williams, 8-Mike Feltenberger (1 win), 9-Mike Fitzgerald (1 win), 10-Cory Reinhard.  The racing was real close and competitive all night long on the Tri-Oval and the racing is getting better on the track each time we race on it throughout the year,  it seems that you are able to race more consecutive laps each time out getting the drivers into a better rhythms making for better racing on the track.  It was good to see Cory Reinhard turn in a good run in the Sportsman division after struggling in this division in the early part of the season, and he also missed winning a segment by a few sections of track the one race.  Mike Fitzgerald turned in a Top 10 run well and picked up a segment win on the night as he is improving each week at the Kutztown ovals.

We are back in action with the Sportsman Division again on Thursday December 27, on the 8 Lane Oval.

Remember racing in on Thursday Night NOT Tuesday Night.

A Merry Christmas to all from Randy’s Raceway and see you Thursday the 27th at the track.
