Two Drivers Having a Great Season

With our racing season at about the mid-way point two drivers that are having good seasons are in this weeks spotlight.  Scott Bender has himself a good season going with a feature win on opening day in the Modifieds and is currently 4th in points with 4 segment wins.  A part time runner this year in Nascar has him 17th in points as he looks for that first career Nascar Feature win.  He is also 6th in the Sprint Car chase with 3 top five finishes and 1 segment win so far.  He is a former Sprint Point Champion.  Scott is also a racer at Little T’s Speedway in Myerstown and a co Race Coordinator of the Berks Lebanon Modified Series.  In the Series Scott is currently sitting in 7th for Big Block and 11th in the Small Block class.

Another driver who has emerged as a top competitor on our Scene is Cory Reinhard.  We have all watched Cory grow up in our group and that has included his steady improvement as a racer.  Cory has become a force this season.  His stats are already impressive at the halfway point.  He is currently 3rd in Modified points with a pair of runner-up finishes and 22 segment wins which has him second on that list.  The Boyertown resident is also 3rd in Nascar with a feature win and 12 segment victories.  His Sprint season has gone ever better, sitting in 1st place after three races he has 2 feature wins and 11 segment wins both the tops in the class.  IROC shows Cory in a 4th place tie with 4 segment wins and 3 top 5 finishes.  Cory has also been a tough runner in the Berks Series sitting 9th in Big Block points with 2 segment wins and 4th in the Small Block class win a feature win on the Opener at Little T’s and 5 segment wins.  Cory also won the Special Show Feature honoring his Dad Toby, a fitting end to that event.  So Cory has tallied 5 feature wins this season, Wow!
