Good having Mike “ Bear “ Feltenberger and Tim ” Little T ” Bowers back in the field making their 1st start of the year. Happy Birthday to Jody later this week, and thanks to Larry Sanders for the cake he bought.

NASACR racing returns to the Tri-Oval next week along with a IROC show.

Sprint Opens Season with Extra Distance Event, Cory Reinhard is the Winner

The third regular season event of this year was spun off as the Sprints ran the opener 25 lap event.  Cory Reinhard scored a very impressive win in his team TCS racer with a nearly perfect score of 199.31.  Winning 6 segments and shaking off a lane 3 draw the Boyertown Grad won the Opener making him the third different winner in three Tuesday night races.  Cory also had a very low count of 5 falloffs in almost 200 laps.  Veteran Mark Williams was second winner of 4 segments on the evening.  Third spot went to Randy Haydt who won 1 segment.  Coming home fourth was Tom Wenner who has a pair of top tens already this young season.  The Blandon racer has certainly upped his game.  Tom won 4 segments.  Rounding out the top five was former Sprint Champ Scott Bender.

Sprint Saga-  Savvy Cunnius had some great runs in her pink Sprinter  scoring 2 segment wins.  17 racers in the field this week including Brian Vanbuskirk who made his first start of the season.

Scott Bender Wins Modified Opener

It was the season opener for the Modifieds Tuesday night at Randy’s Raceway and Scott Bender scored 1 segment win and had all lead lap finishes to post a close win. TCS Racing showed it will be a force all season as Savannah Cunnius scored 3 segment wins turning in a career best 2nd place finish. Randy Haydt  had a fast “Chucky” machine as he scored 3 segment wins finishing 3rd. A “TORRID” battle for the 4th spot, a 3 way tie including Cory Reinhard, Toby Reinhard and Brian “ Spoons “ Sponagle. Cory getting credit for the 4th spot with 5 segment wins. Toby and Spoons tied with one segment win each so the tie breaker then goes to fall offs. Toby takes 5th with 9 fall offs and “Spoons ” 6th with 12 fall offs. Ed Kenderdine was 7th with 1 segment win. John Kosmoski 8th with 1 win, 9th Billy Decker and 10th Jim Levan with 1 win.

HOT LAPS:

Have to check the record books to see if we have ever had a 3 way tie ? 17 racers were in the pit area. Great start of the Modified season for TCS racing with 3 Top 5’s and 9 segment wins. Tough night for Mark Williams who had pinion and rear gear issues all night. Sprint Car Opener next week.

Toby Reinhard Race Well Attended

Nick Wummer with the help of his aunt Cathy put together a nice event to help Toby along with his recovery after some surgery last month.  Over 20 people attended the days activities which included a double show of Big and Small Block Modifieds.  Also a huge thank you to all the people who donated prizes toward the auction, this was really very nice of them.  In a fitting way Toby’s son Cory won the Big Block feature with almost a perfect score.  Followed by Little T, Dan Wirful, Savvy Cunnius and Billy Decker.  The Small Block portion of the show went to Little T as 16 racers entered the event.  Mark Williams was second followed by Randy Haydt, Cory Reinhard and Toby Reinhard coming home 5th.  Great Event everyone and thanks to Randy’s Raceway for once again hosting a great day.

Williams Takes Opener at Randy’s Raceway

Mark Williams won the NASCAR feature at Randy’s Raceway to Open the 19th consecutive season of racing at the Berks Speedway.  A field of 18 racers were on hand to kick off the season and little rust was shown.  Many cars were extremely fast on the smooth 8 lane track.  Williams won 5 segments on route to a one lap victory over last years Point Champ Randy Haydt.  Haydt won 4 segments in his Skoal machine.  Third spot went to a very consistent Jim LeVan in his familiar orange Cup car.  [Read more…]
