Modified Season Review Mark Williams wins Modified Point Title

This years 15 race Modified season was filled with big fields, close racing and some good wrecks!. Mark Williams had a dominating season on way to the Point Title. Mark saw victory lane 12 times and scored 81 segment wins. He also had a fall off average of 2.93 and all that adds up to a championship season. Cory Reinhard lead TCS racing in the Modified class with a win in the season’s final race to go along with 51 segment wins. Reinhard was only out of the Top5, 2 times. He finished a strong 2nd in the final point totals. Randy Haydt finished a solid 3rd in the final totals with 10 Top5 finishes and 32 segment wins. Scott Bender scored a win in the Season Opener than added 8 more Top5 finishes to wind up 4th this season. Jim LeVan scored 26 segment wins along with 8 Top5’s  for a good 5th place finish. Brian Sponagle scored a mid season win on the always challenging Tri-Oval and added 13 segment wins for a good season finishing 6th. Toby Reinhard had a solid 2nd place finish in November and added 4 more Top 5 finishes and 16 segment wins to finish 7th. This Years “Rookie of the Year” Tom Wenner finished 8th in the standing, Tom had 15 segment wins and 2 Top5 finishes. Veteran Billy Decker was 9th and Savannah Cunnius nearly got that 1st win on Opening night finishing 2nd along with 6 segment wins for a good 10th place finish. Getting the “Most Improved Award” Ed Kenderdine finished 12th with a pair of 3rd place finishes and 10 segment wins. Strong modified season for TCS racing with all 3 drivers finishing in the Top10, including 1 win and a total of 72 segment wins. Another welcome mid season addition was Mike Mackaravitz and youngster James Hamershock. Mike finished 18th while James was 19th and got his 1st segment win in the seasons final race. Also good having Susquehanna Late Model Point champion Brian Shuey joining us for 2 mid season races hope to see him back next year. Mike Fitzgerald made 5 starts this year and 3 of them were in the Top5.

 

FULL FIELDS: This years 15 race season drew an average of 18.7 racers up from last year. With 5 fields over 20 and a record high 25 for the XMAS race. Good battle from 3rd to 6th as 64 points separated those spots. A total of 31 racers made starts. Top 12 in points won at least 2 segments and a total of 17 racers scored a segment win. Want to Thank Savvy for doing a great job with the 50/50 this year( and not putting Randys tixs in!). Also Jodi handling the scoring all year and putting up with Randy sitting beside her. When are we getting the Cup holders?

Randy Haydt Wins Small Block Title

After dropping to 4th last year in the Small Block point chase, Randy Haydt rebounded with a very steady season to claim the point title. Randy scored his only win in race 2 added 3 more Top 5 finishes along with 12 segment wins to win the championship. Sheldon Hiester scored a win in the season final race to finish 2nd in the standing. For his 1st season in Small Blocks Fred McCullouch registered 4 Top 5’s including Runner Up finishes in the final 2 races to finish a strong 3rd in the standing. Mark Williams scored a win in race 3 on the Tri-Oval and added 10 segment wins to finish 4th. Shane Hiester scored 3 top5 finishes to close out the Top 5.Tim ” LittleT ” Bowers scored 2 Top 5 finishes and a 4th at Woodland Raceway to finish 6th. Cory Reinhard won the Series opener, added 8 segment wins on way to a 7th place finish. Ed Kenderdine got his 1st Berks Series win and 7 segment wins was 8th. Toby Reinhard had a 5th place run in the Series Opener, along with 7 segment wins was 9th. Tom Wenner scored a pair of 6th place finishes added 2 segment wins was 10th.

A Brand New 3 Race TYCO Race Program

A Brand New 3 Race TYCO Race Program is coming to the area.  Racing at three local Speedways will include the Mighty Modifieds and the Super Sprints.  Any Modified or Sprint from Randy’s Raceway, Little T’s Speedway or Hiester’s H.O. Raceway will be legal.  Doors will open at 11:00 with Racing beginning at 12:00 for all events.  Twin 15’s will be the race card and in between shows at intermission a special fun event will be held.  These events will have no entry fee and points will not be kept.  Please support this new program and check back on Randy’s Raceway webpage or Facebook sites for updates.
