BENDER SCORES A PERFECT WIN

BENDER SCORES A PERFECT WIN
by mark williams

Veteran Reading PA H. O. racer Scott Bender scored his first feature win ever
at Randy's Raceway during the first half of the annual Banquet races.

Bender drove the I R O C cars to four wins claiming the top spot in perfect
fashion.  Bender's margin of victory was by 1 piece of track over many year
veteran Slammin Sam Heller, third was Eric Beard who was also only one piece of
track back of Heller.  Randy Haydt finished fourth followed by Phil Levering
out of Parkerford.  Levering is a former Point Champion from Trooper and
Woodland Speedways back in the 70's.

AMORE WINS BANQUET II RACES

Bob Amore won the banquet race on the six lane track driving in the annual
banquet race. This is not Amore's first win on the transplanted track as he
always run's strong on the old Kevin Reimert track.  Second spot went to
relative newcomer Mike Wentzel who has been looking stronger and stronger
since starting to race on the circuit just a few weeks ago.  But the
surprise of the night has to go to Bryanna Light who finished in a tie with
Randy Haydt for third spot.  This was the first time that Bryanna even
cracked the top ten and she almost won the event with 21 other racers in the
field.  Look out for her next season.  Jim Levan rounded out the top five.
