Brett Gilmore continued his dominance at Randy’s Raceway in the Modified division winning once again and taking all 6 lanes on the tight Berks oval. Sheldon Hiester finished second in a Gilmore backup ride secured at the last minute. Hiester won 5 segments. Third spot went to Fred Mccullough who won 2 segments and really ran strong all night.
Bill Brenner was 4th followed by Nick Wummer who scored a top five for the first time in a modified.
Haydt Takes IROC
Quickly becoming known as MR IROC Randy Haydt took yet another win as his legend continues to grow. Bob Amore took the runner up spot.
TUESDAY NEWS
21 racers were on hand for the Modified portion of the show this week on Monks tight 6 lane track. Bob Amore made his first start back after missing a few weeks and scored some good runs in both Modified and IROC. Welcome back Bob. Billy Decker out of Easton had a strong run in Modified and won his segment on lane six and wound up 7th in the event. Decker has been racing slot cars longer than I can remember and is always great to have him in the field. Fred Mccullough has been really getting dialed in at Randy’s and is a welcome addition on any Tuesday night, he should be tough come the race at the Mall show. Great to see Nick Wummer turn in a career best effort finishing 5th in Modified and staying on the lead lap ever race except lane 1. Scott Bender had a top 10 in Modified but seems really confused with the boundaries on this track. Shane Hiester finished 3rd in IROC despite 2 bubble outs.
Bruce Heller Memorial IROC Race
It was really great to see 33 racers at the Memorial race for Bruce Heller on Sunday at RMS Motorsports in Morgantown, PA. Thanks to Sam Heller and Rich Schmidt for putting it all together and also to Randy Haydt and all the others who helped make it a great event. I know Bruce would be very happy to see the support that was shown.
