Brian Sponagle Sweeps the doubleheader event while Randy Jay Haydt wins the war

Brian Sponagle was on the mark when racing action opened at the famed Kutztown Speedway on Tuesday. Spoons set out to sweep the night of racing action and achieved the double feature event win. On the final night of racing action for the Fast Randy’s Raceway Tri-Oval, Spoons had his Team Haydt Tyco 440×2 flyin’. Spoons scored the NASCAR feature event win by 9 track sections over 2nd Place Matt Light while scoring 4 of the 6 segment wins. Matt Light had another strong run on the Randy’s Raceway Tri-Oval with his 2nd place finish. Matt won 4 of his 6 segments on the track for the night. The final podium racer of the night is the 2022 NASCAR track Champion – Track owner, Randy Jay Haydt. Haydt secured the ’22 TYCO 440×2 NASCAR track championship with his 3rd place run. Randy scored 1 segment win, but ran consistent with all 6 runs over the course of the event.

In the nightcap event on the Randy’s Raceway Tri-Oval, Tom Wenner owned OS3 TFX Super Late Models were used as the IROC Class. Brian Sponagle continued his super run with a strong IROC performance. Spoons has always been known as Mr. IROC and Tuesday was no different as he scored a strong win in the IROC class. Spoons won 2 of the 4 segments raced to secure an 8 track section feature event win. Chris Brubaker finished in 2nd place with a great IROC run on the Randy’s Raceway Tri-Oval. Chris did not win a segment but beat Randy Jay Haydt by 6 track sections for 2nd spot. Randy Jay Haydt finished in 3rd spot, His 2nd of the night. Haydt with 2-3rd place finishes on the evening. Randy won 1 segment in the run.

Tri-O Notes:

The final Randy’s Raceway race of the 20th Anniversary season drew 13 drivers. 8 drivers competed in the IROC race. Congrats to Randy Jay Haydt for winning the 2021-22 Randy’s Raceway NASCAR Point Championship. Randy narrowly edged out Matt Light by 10 points for the championship. TYCO Modified racing returns to the Randy’s Raceway 8 Lane next week. Only 4 nights of racing remain this season. Thank You to all of the racers who have attended racing action this season at Randy’s Raceway. There was a teardown of 3 cars on the night – Winner Spoons, Randy Jay Haydt and Brian Vanbuskirk. All 3 racers cleared the Tech shed.
