It was the 2nd annual NASCAR Cup race on the Road Course at Randy’s Raceway and Bryan Kisthart ended a long string of Top 5 runs, as he collected his 1st career win. Bryan’s win was 3 laps over last year’s winner Jim Levan who scored his best Cup finish this year coming home 2nd. Shane Hiester turned in a steady 3rd place finish ahead of brother Sheldon Hiester who finished 4th, both making their initial starts on the Road Course. Opening night winner Randy Haydt closed out the Top 5. Mark Williams just missed a Top 5 finish by 2 laps came home 6th. Brian Vanbuskirk had a good 7th place finish. Scott Bender improved 2 spots from last year to finish 8th, Brian Sponagle finished 9th, and Toby Reinhardt finished 10th.
ROAD COURSE ROUNDUP:
Being this is a different type of racing for some of us being turn marshal’s I thought everybody did a good job working around the track. If their were any issues hopefully everyone understands this was new to many of us. Good run by Brian Vanbuskirk making his 1st Road Course effort a season best 7th place finish. Good competition in Cup this year as Bryan’s win makes it 4 winners in as many races. Nick Wummer was back from school break with us for his 1st time on a road course did OK, we hope to see him again.
