The list of different winners continued Tuesday night, as Cup racing moved to the Tri-Oval for the 1st time this season, and Cory Reinhard scored 3 segment wins on way to the victory. Cory’s win was by only 21 pieces of track over Runner Up Jim LeVan. Running his bright Orange Coors Light #40 Jim scored 2 segment wins for a strong 2nd place run. Breaking out a fresh new Cup ride Chris Brubaker scored 2 segment wins for a good 3rd place finish. Brian Sponagle continued his solid runs on the Tri-Oval, claiming 2 segment wins finishing 4th.Toby Reinhard came back from a slow start on lane 1, scored 2 segment wins to close out the Top 5.
6th ( TIE ) Billy Decker ( 1 win ) and Scott Bender / 8th Randy Haydt ( 4 wins ) / 9th Bob Amore ( 1 win ) / 10th Mark Williams ( 2 wins ).
Brian Sponagle Takes Cup Opener
It was the IROC season opener running Hot Stock Tyco Pan Chassis and Brian Sponagle capped off a good night scoring the win ” SPOONS ” scored 3 segment wins to hold off Jim LeVan by 3 pieces of track. Jim also had a strong all night scoring 2 segment wins to finish 2nd. Randy Haydt scored 2 segment wins to finish 3rd. Ed Kenderdine scored 2 segment wins for a good 4th place finish. Only 1 piece of track behind, Tony Zappacosta scored 1 segment win and Cory Reinhard also scored 1 segment win finishing in a tie for 5th.
7th Toby Reinhard ( 1 win ) / 8th Bob Amore ( 1 win ) / 9th Nick Wummer ( 1 win ) / 10th Mark Williams.
TRI-OVAL TALK:
Good having new comer Laudan Seigfried with us, his 1st effort on the Tri-Oval was an 11th place finish. Strong field of 19 racers ran Cup,14 in the IROC field. After 6 races so far this year 6 different winners. A tie for 6th in Cup and a tie for 5th in IROC ?
