DECKER TAKES CUP OPENER:

The NASCAR season opened on Tuesday at Randy’s Raceway on the Tri-Oval.


 Running its annual 25 lap event, and Billy Decker turned in a solid run scoring his 1st career Cup win. Running the Pennzoil #1, Decker won 4 segments on the middle lanes on his way to the win. It also was Billys 2nd straight win on the Tri-Oval, as Billy scored a win this summer in the Tri Track challenge. Randy Haydt ran the Skoal Bandit #33 to 3 segment wins for a second place finish. Scott Bender ran his new Mobile #12 to 1 segment win, on lane 6, to finish third. Mark Williams ran his multi colored, no numbered car to fourth place. Bob Amore overcame a bad run on lane 1 to finish fifth.

CUP COMMENTS:
Cindy Cooper made her Cup debut on the Tri-Oval doing a good job of not crashing out in any segment and had a lead lap finish. Top 3 were torn down with no problems. Congratulations to Mark Williams for winning best Appearing car award for the night.
