Fred McCullough wins Holiday 2012 Sportsman at Randy’s Raceway

On Thursday night December 27, 2012 a special Sportsman race was held at Randy’s Raceway featuring 25 lap races on the 8-Lane oval.  There were 19 racers in attendance for the event sponsored by Scott Bender Racing Photos.  Taking the win was the always fast and steady Fred McCullough.  Fred won 5 segments on the night.  Second went to Sheldon Hiester in his Doug Hoffman Norm Hansell 357 replica body to honor the passing of the late Doug Hoffman.  Sheldon won 6 segments on the night.  Third went to Shane Hiester.  Shane won 4 segments on the night.  Fourth went to Jim Levan.  Jim won 3 segments on the night in his familiar orange and white #1 car.  Rounding out the top 5 in his best run of the year at Randy’s Raceway was Mike Fitzgerald.  Mike won 1 segment on the night.  Mike has been doing allot of racing this season at different tracks in the area, and it looks to be paying off keep up the good work Mike.  The rest of the top 10 were: 6 – Mark Williams, 7 – Randy Haydt (2 wins), 8 – Mike Feltenberger, 9 – Billy Decker, and 10 – Brian Sponagle.  A nice run by Brian Sponagle who notching his first top 10 at Randy’s Raceway.  A special thanks to Randy for putting this race on it was a fun time for all who attended, the snacks were a great addition, and some new faces were welcomed too.  Thanks again to Scott Bender for the beautiful photos, and Chris Budihas for the magnets as the sponsor of the event.  The Barlet family Denise, Dennis, and Dakota made their first starts at Randy’s Raceway and enjoyed themselves.  They also brought Tom Spatz along who made on his second start ever anywhere in this event.  A few of the regulars struggled on this night Scott Bender needed a new front clip after warm-ups, Billy Decker had rear issues, and Corey Bailey had some power plant issues on the outer lanes.  Also Bryan Kisthart had handling problems that set him down in the order.  The rest of the field finish will be posted on the score sheet when site is updated.  Thanks to Randy for the Holiday race a night to get together with friends have a good time with each other.  We are off next week for New Years, but will be back in action Tuesday January 8, 2013 with Modifieds on the 8-Lane.
