Tuesday Night we were up on the Tri-Oval for the first time this season with races for the Sportsman and IROC divisions. We had 10 racers on hand that participated in each event. In the Sportsman race Fred McCullough took the victory winning 4 of his 6 segments on road to his victory. Second went to Randy Haydt who won 1 segment in his strong run on the Tri-Oval. Third went to Shane Hiester who ran steady all night but did not win a segment on the night. Fourth went to Bob Amore who won 3 segments and ran well all night except for his bubble out on lane 5. Rounding out the top 5 was Sheldon Hiester who won 1 segment on the evening. The rest of the field finished out like this: 6-Billy Decker, 7-Mark Williams (1 Segment Win), 8-Kevin Sponagle, 9-Scott Bender, and 10-Brian VanBuskirk. The racing was close and intense all night long in the Sportsman class on the tricky tri-oval.
In the nightcap we ran the IROC Division and the cars of choice for the night were AFX Non-Magna Traction cars prepared by Randy Haydt. Winning the race for the night was Rookie and newcomer to Randy’s Raceway Kevin Sponagle who won 3 segments enroute to his first ever victory at the Kutztown speedway. Second went to sportsman winner Fred McCullough who won 2 segments on the night. Third went to Randy Haydt who won 3 segments on the night. Fourth went to Mark Williams who won 1 segment on the night. Fifth went to Sheldon Hiester for the second time on the night, and he won 1 segment. The rest of the field finished up like this: 6-Billy Decker, 7-Shane Hiester (1 Segment Win), 8-Scott Bender, 9-Brian VanBuskirk, 10-Bob Amore. It is nice to see that a Rookie can come in and whoop up on us veterans that race at Randy’s every week, and a thank you to Randy for providing such even field of IROC cars for all of us in attendance to run.
