Gilmore Edges Decker for Berk’s Series Win

The Berk’s County Oval Series ran its third race of the season on Saturday at Monks track the "Racerink".

Kenny Gilmore turned in his second win of the year by only 10 pieces of track winning 5 segments. Billy Decker turned in a solid run also winning 5 segments on way to a second place finish. Only 1 lap behind Mark Williams making his 1st start in the Berks Series this year won 2 segments to score a third place run. Randy Haydt scored his best finish this year with a fourth place  finish. Jim Levan turned in his best Berks Series finish winning 1 segment crossing the line in fifth.

HAYDT SCORES 2ND I R O C WIN

The 15 lap I R O C main event were with Storm cars ( Billys favorite ) and Randy Haydt won 2 segments on lanes 1 & 2 on way to his second I R O C win of the year, and his 7th career I R O C win. Kenny Gilmore had a bad run on lane 1, but turned in 4 segment wins to finish second. Jim Levan also turned in his best I R O C finish with a third place effort winning 1 segment. Bill Brenner making his 1st I R O C start looked good finishing in fourth winning 1 segment on lane 6. Also Mark Williams making his 1st I R O C start of the year won 1 segment to round out the top 5.

FLASHES AND CRASHES

Good to see Bll Brenner, Eric Beard, & Mark Williams all making their initial starts this year in the Berk’s Series and hope to see them back. Thanks to Monk & Heidi for supplying the great food that everyone enjoyed. Bob Amore did a great job making the Late Model bodies that were run in the I R O C race.
