The Berks County Oval Series made it annual stop at Paul Barkasi’s super fast Exeter Speedway on Saturday.
Kenny Gilmore and Paul Barkasi each turned in great runs winning 5 segments and turning in the same score on lane 1. They finished in a tie for the win but with Gilmore getting credit for the win as a result of less come offs. It was Kenny’s 3rd win of the year, as well as a great effort by Paul to finish second. Bob Zelano turned in a season best third place finish winning 2 segments. Brett Gilmore making his 1st starts this year in the Berks Series won 1 segment to come home fourth. Rich Schmidt ran the red #3 to a good fifth place finish winning 2 segments.

GILMORE SCORES 2ND I R O C WIN
The 15 lap I R O C event saw Kenny Gilmore record his 2nd I R O C win of the year wining 2 segments on way to a narrow 8 piece of track win over runner up Randy Haydt who won 1 segment. Only 6 pieces of track behind was Rich Schmidt who ran steady all day winning 1 segment to finish third. Only 1 lap behind Paul Barkasi won 1 segment on lane 6 to finish fourth. Bob Amore turned in his 3rd top 5 finish this year in I R O C winning 1 segment to finish out the top 5.

PIT PASSES:
A good field of 16 racers were on hand as Brett Gilmore, Bill Rowley and Dustin Morris all making their initial starts in the Berks Series. Top 5 finishers all past tear down. Thanks to Rich Schmidt for preparing the Storm cars that were used in the I R O C race and thanks to Paul Barkasi for the fine food and hospitality.
