Cup and sprint car action returned to Monk’s track on Tuesday night.
In Cup action Kenny Gilmore scored his 4th straight win of the year as he ran the Red #8 to 4 segment wins. Randy Haydt turned in his best effort this year in cup action was second, winning 1 segment. Brett Gilmore and Bob Amore tied for third, Brett won 3 segments while Bob won 1 on way to his 1st top 5 finish this year in this class. Billy Decker kept his string of top 5’s going winning 1 segment to finish fifth.
Gilmore Wins Sprints
The sprint cars made their 1st ever start on Monks track and Kenny Gilmore remained unbeaten in this class, winning all 6 segments on way to his 3rd winged win of the year. A very happy Randy Haydt scored 2 segment wins on way to his best sprint car finish this year was second. Mark Williams turned in a good run finishing third, winning 1 segment, his 2nd straight third place finish. Scott Bender scored his 3rd top5 finish this year was fourth. Bob Amore finished off a good night with a fifth place finish.
Track Talk:
The new Randy’s Raceway T-shirts are now available, Blue and White colors, any size only $6.00. Despite 2 top 5 finishes Randy was very happy about his new monitor that he found and mentioned it to everybody many times.
Other Notes:
There will be a States Mall meeting after the Modified race on January 27, 2009.
