Gilmore Wins Mod Main Over Hiester and Brenner

By Mark Williams

Brett Gilmore won the modified main event scoring a perfect run

by winning all 8 segments.  Gilmore ran a new Kevin Collins #12 replica body.  Not to be out done however this week was Shane Hiester in his familiar white #42 modified.  Hiester won 6 lanes and just missed a perfect run by 3 pieces of track.  Bill Brenner driving the potent #55 wrenched by Eric Beard was third with 2 segment wins.  Just 1 piece of track behind in fourth was Sheldon Hiester who won 3 segments.  Rounding out the top five was Troy Bowers who had a tough draw but had consistent finishes all the way through the lanes.

RACEWAY RAMBLE

A very good field of 20 racers was on hand this week for the final modified show of 2010.  Congratulations to Brett Gilmore on winning his second straight Modified Point Championship at Randy’s Raceway.  Young Adam Zappacosta was on hand and improved his score in every race.  It was also nice talking with Randy Oxenreider about the old days at the Reading Fairgrounds.  A certain driver is still complaining about where his fellow racers stand.  Reminds me of Bert Myers.
