Cup racing returned to Randy’s Raceway on the fast 8 lane Tuesday night and Jim LeVan ended a long string of Top 5 run’s to finally score his 1st Cup win of the season. Running his Coors Lite # 40 Jim rebounded from major body damage from the previous race on the Tri-Oval (RANDY) to score 2 segment wins on way to a close win. Just 23 pieces of track behind Mark Williams trying to make it 2 Cup wins in a row scored 3 segment wins for a good 2nd place run. Trailing Mark by only21 pieces of track Randy Haydt ran the Kodiak # 27 to 1 segment win on lane 8 to come home 3rd. Scott Bender had a consistent evening finishing 4th his 3rd Top 5 finish in Cup action. Dave Fitzgerald ran his Goodwrench # 29 to a strong 5th place finish including his 1st segment win in Cup racing.

Good to see Dave Fitzgerald scoring a segment win on lane 6 and a 5th place finish. Nice having Sam Heller back for the night who ran a Billy D back up to a 7th place finish and 2 segment wins. Jim’s win makes him the 4th different winner this year in Cup racing. IROC classes were voted on and Brian Sponagle and Jim LeVan’s cars were selected. Jim’s Hot Stock Tyco Pan Chassis will be run in the next IROC race on the 8 lane March 1st with Brian’s well detailed Reading Fairgrounds Aurora T-Jets will be run on the Tri-Oval in the IROC Series final race on March 15. Once again there were great photo opportunities, but I think our photographer is on vacation ?
