The Cup season opened on the 8 lane fast track Tuesday night and Jim Levan turned in a solid effort to score the opening night win. Jim scored 6 segment wins in his bright orange racer. Randy Haydt nearly pulled off the win running his familiar Skoal Bandit # 33 to 4 segment wins for a runner up finish. Only 23 pieces of track behind last years Cup champion Shane Hiester collected 3 segment wins for a 3rd place run. Only 1 lap behind Sheldon Hiester scored 2 segment wins finishing 4th.Closing out the top5 Tim ” BigT ” Bowers was steady all night and collected 1 segment win on lane 8 to finish 5th.

CUP STUFF
Good opening night field of 17 racers were on hand. Including regular last year Brian Vanbuskirk and new comer Mike Fitzgerald who just missed out of a top 10 run by 6 pieces of track. Tim ” Big T ” Bowers has his Big T’s Speedway opening day for Modifieds this Saturday September 22, 2012. Warm Ups at 12noon and racing starts at 2 pm. Larry Sanders raced with out his shirt and sneakers, this didn’t have anything to do with the cool and refreshing air that everybody had to deal with downstairs. With the revised schedule next week is Twin 15’s on the Tri-Oval for Sportsmen and Cup cars.
