Veteran Jim Levan scored his first win of the season and 8th of his career at the Berks County oval called Randy’s Raceway. Levan was real strong in his #12 Coupe bodied racer winning segments on lanes 4, 6 and 7. Second spot went to Shane Hiester who keeps his career first Modified win at least another 2 weeks away as he still looks to get that elusive win. Shane won just 1 segment as he was real fast on the outside taking lane 8. Third spot went Eric Beard who made his first start of this season in his new #88 modified. Beard won 3 segments in the middle of the track on lanes 4,5, and 6. Fourth was Beard’s teamate Bill Brenner in the familiar #18. Brenner won the most number of segments on the evening taking 5 races. Rounding out the top five was Sheldon Hiester winner of 3 segments and also the opening night feature winner. The remaining top ten went like this, 6th- Cory Bailey (2), 7th- Mike Feltenberger (1), 8th- Bryan K, 9th- Toby Rienhard (1), and Mike Fitzgerald (2).
NEWS around the pits.
We would all like to thank Randy for treating everyone to ice cream, too bad Scott was unable to attend this week. Cory Bailey picked up his first career segment win on lane 6 and then followed it up with another win on lane 7, good to see him crack the winners circle. Also Mike Fitz picked up 2 segment wins which I also believe are his firsts at Randy’s Raceway. Billy Decker unveiled a new #707 Big Donkey modified and he got it dialed in more as the night went on. Watch soon for him to get back up into the top five soon. Cory Reinhard finished 13th and looked strong in the Mike Vick #7. Missing regulars this week included Bob Amore and Scott Bender. Scott was recovering from some dental work. We hope to see Bob A back in the field soon he is missed.
