Randy’s Raceway Tuesday Night Sprint Car & IROC Doubleheader Race Results
Mike Fitzgerald with Sprint Car & Sheldon Hiester with IROC score Randy’s Raceway feature wins in Tuesday Night Thunder action
Mike Fitzgerald broke into Randy’s Raceway victory lane for the 1st time in ’22 with a strong feature winning run at Randy’s Raceway. Fitzie won 4 of the 6 lanes raced in 410 Sprint Car action on the famed Randy’s Raceway 8 Lane Oval. Scott Bender raced onto the podium with an equally strong run in Sprint Car action scoring a strong 2nd place run. Bender’s 3 segment wins on lanes 1,2 and 4 were enough to sneak by Matt Light for the 2nd place finish. Matt Light continued his strong runs at the Kutztown oval with another podium finish. Light’s 3rd place run was only 3 segments out of 2nd place. Matt Light scored segment wins on 1,4 and 5 to secure the final spot on our podium.

Sheldon Hiester breaks into the ’22 IROC season victory lane with a Tyco Tractor Trailer feature win on the Randy’s Raceway 8 Lane Oval
Shane Hiester scored the season opening night feature win in IROC competition, his brother Sheldon Hiester has now matched it as the twin brothers control the IROC action at Randy’s Raceway this season. Randy broke out the always fun Tyco Pan Chassis IROC Tractor Trailer Trucks. This set is always a fun time at the track. The race was 3 laps in length over 4 lanes with 12 remaining drivers tackling the tricky 8 lane oval. Sheldon Hiester won 2 of the 4 segments to seal the victory over his brother Shane Hiester who finished 2nd. Shane won 1 segment on the night. Matt Light completed his night with 2 solid podium finishes, Light won 2 segments to finish 3rd once again.

15 Strong for Sprint Car and 12 for IROC, Thank You to everyone for coming out and supporting Randy’s Raceway. It was nice to see a new racer in the pits – Elmer Santiago joining the Tuesday Night fun. Elmer just missed the Top 5 in IROC. Great run by Brian Vanbuskirk in IROC just missing the podium. Word in the pit area is that Team Haydt suffered engine failure in the Sprint Car Main and limped home to an 11th place finish.
