Shane and Fred Take Tuesday Night Wins

On Tuesday night November 11, 2011 was Third race of the season for the Sportsman and IROC divisions at Randy’s Raceway.  The double header moved to the 8-Lane for the first time this season.  Taking the win in the Sportsman division was point leader Shane Hiester.  Shane won 3 segments on the night in his Jared Umbenhauer ride.  Second went to Billy Decker.  Billy won 2 segments on the night, and has been running strong as of late.  Third went to Sheldon Hiester.  Sheldon won 4 segments on the night in his Andy Fayash ride, but in the races he didn’t win he drove like Andy.  Forth went to Kenny “Monk” Gilmore.  Monk won 3 segments on the night in his first Sportsman race in about 2 years.  Rounding out the top 5 was Mark Williams.  Mark didn’t win every segment, but was on the lead lap in every segment.  The rest of the top 10 were 6-Jim Levan (1 win), 7-Bob Amore (1 win), 8-Fred McCullough, 9-Scott Bender, and 10-Randy Haydt.  There were 13 racers on the night so the field was around the normal crowd.  The racing up front was pretty close between the top 3.
In the IROC race, which was the Outlaw Pan Chassis Tyco, cars taking the win were Fred McCullough.  Fred won 4 segments on the night in route to his first ever win in anything at Randy’s Raceway.  Congrats Freddy Mac.  Second went to Shane Hiester.  Shane won 3 segments on the night, and maintains his point lead.  Third went to Randy Haydt.  Randy won 2 segments on the night.  Forth went to Billy Decker.  Billy didn’t win any segments, but was smooth all night to stay on the lead lap in each race.  Rounding out the top 5 was Jim Levan.  Jim won 2 segments on the night.  The rest of the field went like this: 6-Mark Williams, 7-Scott Bender (1 win), 8-Sheldon Hiester (2 wins), 9-Toby Reinhard, 10-Bob Amore (1 win), 11-Tony Zappacosta, and 12-Cory Reinhard.  There were 12 racers on hand for the event.  The fast cars gave some racers handling issues, but overall it was a fun night of racing.  There were a few boundary issues and unnecessary roughing penalties that the red and yellow flags had to be used.  Next week is Modifieds on the 8-Lane come out and support your local speedways.
