Veteran Shane Hiester handily won the season’s final race the Modified show. He actually opened and closed this season with victories. Hiester won 4 segments on the night in his brothers car (Sheldon picked the wrong one) this was his second feature win this season and seventh career Modified win.
Mark Williams finished second after winning 3 segments and finished as the season’s point champ. Third spot was Reading’s Jim Levan who won his first 6 segments on his way to a fine run in the final event. Fourth spot was Bryan Kisthart who was consistent all night and ended a great season in the Modifieds. Rounding out the top five was Corey Bailey. Racing a new car for the last race Corey found the right set up and looked real good winning on lane 3. Sheldon Hiester was 6th followed by Bill Brenner in his new 50th anniversary bodied car. 8th went to Toby Reinhard, Scott Bender was 9th and Billy Decker rounded out the top 10.
20 racers were on hand for the final show. Brian Vanbuskirk finished 15th and capped a nice season. Eric Beard bubbled out on 2 lanes but still came back to win 4 segments and grab 12th place. This week will be the annual awards banquet and so far we have over 24 signed up.
