The 2nd Race of the season for the Sportsman Division took place on Tuesday Night on the Tri-Oval, and 2 Time and defending Sportsman Champion Shane Hiester won the race by winning all 6 segments on the night. Second place went to Bryan Kisthart who won 4 segments on the night in a strong run again. This T-jet racer is starting to get good in the magnet cars, look out for his 1st win to come sometime soon. Third place went to Sheldon Hiester who won 2 segments on the night. Their was a tie for fourth between Mike “Bear” Feltenberger and Corey Bailey, with Bear winning 1 segment, and Bailey winning 2 segments on the night respectively.
The rest of the Top 10 wound up like this:
6-Jim Levan (1 win), 7-Mark Williams, 8-Scott Bender, 9-Bob Amore (2 wins), and 10-Randy Haydt.
We had another strong field of 19 racers on hand for the event, with Denise Barlet making her 1st start of the season in the Sportsman class finishing 19th but she is still figuring out the track as that was only her 2nd time on it. Adam Zappacosta also made his 1st start in a couple of seasons at Randy’s Raceway and brought home a 18th place finish on the night. Alex Amore picked up a segment win on the night as well but finished outside the top 10 in 14th after having some troubles on the other lanes. Would like to give a Thank You to Scott for finally learning how to say the word “Power” when falling off of the track. We are back in action at Randy’s Raceway Next Tuesday Night October 8 with the Modifieds on the 8 lane oval.
