NASCAR racing made its final appearance on the Tri-Oval as Sheldon Hiester continued his late season charge with his 2nd straight Cup win, scoring 3 segment wins. Sheldon’s win was by only 1 piece of track over Mark Williams who collected 4 segment wins for a strong runner up finish. Jim Levan turned in a steady run winning 2 segments on lanes 1 and 6, for a important 3rd place finish, while tightening up the point lead heading into the season final race. Randy Haydt looked good on the inner lanes scoring 2 segment wins to finish 4th. Closing out the top 5, Shane Hiester had a bad run on lane 2 but regrouped to salvage a top 5 finish.
6th Bob Amore (1win) / 7th Bryan Kisthart / 8th Corey Bailey (2wins) / 9th Scott Bender / 10th Toby Reinhard
TRI-OVAL TALK: After some moving issues it was good to see Bob Amore back, hopefully for the remainder of the season, and with a good 6th place finish. The point battle can’t get much closer heading into season final race, with a six point separation for the top three positions. Sorry to see Billy Decker missing, hope everything is O.K. Tony Z got a ride in a Hiester mount looking pretty good scoring 1 segment win. Donna Bryant did a good job with her debut on the Tri-Oval not crashing out and staying on the lead lap in 1 segment. Finally the boundary issues came up again but thanks to Corey Bailey for keeping an eye on the situation and pointing out the real offenders. Mark Williams had the beautiful purple body Cup car ready for action but say’s he is saving it for the Easter race?
NEXT WEEK: Modifieds return on the 8 lane fast track.
