Sheldon Hiester Wins Sportsman Event

On Wednesday night January 22, 2014 was the sixth Sportsman race of the season at Randy’s Raceway.  We did use the Wednesday night make-up date after a snow out which was implemented at the start of the new calendar year.  There were 10 racers on hand for the event.  Taking the win was Sheldon Hiester.  Sheldon won 4 segments on the night.  Second went to Mark Williams.  Mark won 4 segments on the night.  Third went to Shane Hiester.  Shane won 1 segment on the night.  Fourth went to Mike “Bear” Feltenberger.  Bear won 1 segment on the night.  Rounding out the top 5 was Mike Fitzgerald.  Mike didn’t win any segments, but was right the in the battle in some races.  The rest of the top 10 were: 6-Brian Sponagle, 7-Billy Decker, 8-Scott Bender, 9-Brian VanBuskirk, and 10-Jim Levan.  Jim Levan struggled with a 6 on Lane 5, and then pulling his car for Lane 6.  The schedule was changed again due to the weather, and Randy unable to be there due to an obligation for work.  We only ran 1 race on the 8-Lane since Randy couldn’t be there.  So the race on February 18, 2014 will now be a double show on the Tri-Oval.  Some regulars were missing Randy Haydt, Bob Amore, Corey Bailey, Toby & Cory Reinhard, and the Barlet family has been there for most of the Sportsman races.  A special thanks to Randy for showing hospitality and trust in all of us that showed up to race allowing us in his house without him present.  Next week is Modifieds up on the Tri-Oval.
