Sheldon Hiester ran a near perfect race dispite being on bubble twice during the event and scored his third feature win of the season. Sheldon won three segments and was fast on all 6 lanes driving his own racer. Although having 12 falloffs on the trick Tri-Oval Hiester drove the wheels off his car. Racing right next to season points leader Mark Williams who would end up second just 12 pieces of track back and 2 segment winner on the night. Third spot went to Shane Hiester who had a real good run winning 4 segments including a good run or lane 1. Shane had an axle issue on one lane leading to a lower score on lane 5. Fourth spot picking up his best career finish was Brian Sponagle (Spoons) won all the even lanes. Brian’s best finish of his career highlights the fact that he was last season’s Most Improved driver here at Randy’s Raceway. Veteran Randy Haydt rounded out the top five winning 1 segment on his way to a strong finish.
Nice to see 50 year veteran Bill Brenner back and winning two segments in his Eric Beard racer. Team mate Chris Brubaker turned in a top ten finish and almost pulled out a segment win on lane 6. Scott Bender was on his game also with a top ten finish and only had 5 falloffs all night even though he said in practice that he was having handling issues. But it was just PRACTICE, practice, we talkin about practice.
Next week is the double show twin 15’s for Nascar. Let’s hope the weather holds out. Also remember that Randy is working on a T-shirt order with our support.
