Mark Williams won his second Modified Feature of the season at Randy’s Raceway in a field of 25 racers. The pits were full for the holiday special event on Scott Bender Photo night. Williams won 5 segments in his bright Green racer and was comfortably ahead of runner-up Randy Haydt. Haydt did not win a segment but had real consistent runs after struggling on lane 1. Third spot went to Tom Wenner with 2 segment wins. The Blandon Racer recorded his best ever finish at the Berks Speedway. Scott Bender was a strong 4th winner of a single segment and an earlier season Feature winner. Toby Reinhard had 2 segment wins to come home an impressive 5th in the packed field. Ed Kenderline was 6th which was also his best career Modified run and won 2 segments along the way. Laudan Seyfried finished 7th and was shut out of segment wins but had real strong runs on all 8 lanes. Brian Sponagle recent birthday driver finished 8th with 2 segment wins. 9th spot was a tie between Savannah Cunnius and Mike Feltenberger with each winning 3 segments.
Modified Notes- Good having Bill Trotter, Bill Rowley, Bruce Komlodi and PJ Cunnius racing with us again. Rob London improved his runs as the night went on in his yellow number 11 sharp modified. Jim LeVan had an off night with some handling issues but still managed to win 2 segments. Thanks to Mike Feltenberger for donating some shirts and also to Scott Bender for his annual Photo give away night. 25 racers is a season high for us here at Randy’s Raceway and the track management is very appreciative. The show was run off in about 2.5 hours and considering 25 racers and 20 laps that was real good. Thanks to all who helped out including Brian Vanbuskirk who did an extended run of flagging. No boundary issues to speak of and Security was not needed. Everybody was on their best behavior for Santa.
We will be back the Tuesday after the New Year with NASCAR on the Tri Oval Twin 10’s. Merry Christmas to all the Randy’s Racers and all Slot car racers as well.
