Mark Williams won his third Modified Feature of the season and moved into the point lead, as Brett Gilmore was not in attendance. Williams won 7 segments driving a fluoresant Pink Modified owned by Kenny Gilmore. Shane Hiester wound up a close second as he won 6 segments in his fast #102. Third spot went to last week’s winner Jim Levan. Levan won 3 segments in his white coupe bodied racer. Fourth was Bob Amore who won 1 segment in a Gilmore backup car. Rounding out the top five was steady Scott Bender on his #99. The remaining top ten were Bill Brenner, Sheldon Hiester Billy Decker, Mike Feltenberger and Bill Rowley.
Racers Ramblings
Rumor was going around the pits that the fast #18 owned by Eric Beard may have a new driver next race. Veteran Bill Brenner out of Manheim will get the nod and try his hand at keeping that fast car in the grove. The 18 is one of the quickest down the straight-aways. Remember you heard it here first. Good luck Bill. This week we welcomed a few new racers to Modified. Making first starts were Kevin Sponagly, Bill Rowley, John Kosmoski and Mike Feltenberger. Between those 4 guys there is allot of slot car racing experience and they are a welcome addition to Tuesday nights at Randy’s Raceway. Cory Reinhard had a tough night in his Eagles special #7 and wound up 15th. We had a total of 17 racers on hand. Adam Z ran a nice looking #26 mod. Mike Feltenberger who raced with me in the 70’s debuted a brand new Amore body replica of Gerry Chamberlin’s Bulloch #76. Rumors have it that Bob took quite a few orders for the 76 bodies. Business is good. Special thanks go out to Scott Bender for the donation of 3 autographed 8×11 photos and also to Chris Budihas for donating refrigerator magnets for our holiday event. Next week we are back on the Tri-oval for Sportsman and IROC.
