CUP SEASON REVIEW

BOB AMORE CLAIMS 1ST CUP CHAMPIONSHIP.
It was a close and competitive nine-race Cup season






with racing rotating on all three tracks. Congratulations to Bob Amore as he collected the big trophy at the season ending banquet for his consistent run on way to his 1st Cup title. Bob scored on one win in November on the Tri-Oval (a sweep), along with three 2nd place finishes, three 3rd place finishes, and two 4th place runs on way to the championship. Bob held off Jim Levan by only 13 points.
Jim turned in three wins, including the last two of the season, and had a total of six top five finishes capping off a solid 2nd place finish in the final standing. Only 19 points separated Jim from Mark Williams and Scott Bender who finished tied for 3rd as Mark got credit for 3rd because of his opening night win. Mark scored five top five runs on way to a good 3rd place effort. Scott Bender finished the season strong with two runner up finishes, and five other top five finishes on way to a 4th place finish. Running his 1st full season in this class Sheldon Hiester notched four top five finishes, including a 3rd place finish in December to round out the top five places. Sheldon edged brother Shane by only 4 points.

6 – 10  6th Shane Hiester / 7th BillyDecker / 8th Randy Haydt / 9th Toby Reinhard / 10th Dennis Kerschner.

11 – 15 11th Brett Gilmore / 12th Dale Stengle Sr. / 13th Steven Kercher / 14th Brian VanBuskirk 15th Nick Wummer.

Brett Gilmore – 4, Jim Levan – 3, BobAmore – 1, and Mark Williams – 1.

CUP CUTS:

Despite not running a full season Brett Gilmore had four wins in six events. Congrats goes out to Toby Reinhard  this years Rookie of The Year with a 9th place finish in the final standings, and five top ten finishes. Final standing had the top five in points separated by only 64 points. The next five finishers were only 86 points apart.
