by scott bender
The B. C. O. S recently concluded its seventh season of racing, a year that included a lot of fun, close racing, and a couple of firsts.
Kenny Gilmore claimed his first Berks Series title in 3 years, despite missing the Series opener Gilmore won 3 features, ran top 5 in the other 3 races on his way to the modified point title. Rich Schmidt turned in a good year including 2 wins and 3 other top 5 finishes on his way to a second place finish. Schmidt had a tough run in race 3 that hurt his chances for the title this year. Randy Haydt had an interesting season Haydt scored 1 win, that being the first time the Berks Series ran twin 15's at Bob Zelano's track. But in race 6 due to a motor issue Haydt was DQ. Scott Bender scored 4 fourth place finishes on his way to finishing fourth. Billy Decker scored a third place finish on Randy's Tri-Oval on his way to a solid fifth place.
