Mark Williams Wins the Holiday 200

On Tuesday December 30, 2014 it was the Annual Holidays 200 sponsored by Scott Bender Racing Photos at Randy’s Raceway in Kutztown, PA.  There were 23 racers in attendance for the event.  Taking the win was Mark Williams.  Mark won all 8 segments en route to a perfect 200 lap total.  Second went to Shane Hiester.  Shane won 4 segments on the night in his Brian Hirthler 4* car.  Third went to Sheldon Hiester.  Sheldon won 2 segments on the night in the Jared Umbenhauer #5 car.  Fourth went to Mike Fitzgerald.  Mike won 3 segments on the night in his fast Billy Pauch car.  Rounding out the top 5 in fifth was Big T.  Big T won 3 segments on the night.  The rest of the top 10 were: 6 – Mike Feltenberger ( 1 win ), 7 – Jim Levan ( 2 wins ), 8 – Bryan Kisthart, 9 – Scott Bender, and 10 – Dennis Barlet.  7 different drivers took home segment wins on the night, which is about a 1/3 of the field, which is pretty good.  The racing was good all night long, after the first race got started and over with.  The finish from second to fifth was separated by less than a lap so that tells you how close the action was.  There were a lot of people making their first start of the season at Randy’s Raceway, and they were Steven Kercher, Dennis Kercher, Denise Barlet, Dennis Barlet, Dakota Barlet, Kelsey Adams made her first start anywhere, Bob Amore, and Stacey Schmick.  The new drivers and returning veterans did a descent job being it has been awhile since they raced.  Kelsey Adams did good in her first start on any H.O. track anywhere finishing every segment without crashing out.  Steven and Dennis Kercher made there first start in about 3 years, and looked solid in their return.  Nick Wummer was in attendance again, and came home with a solid 13th place finish.  Thanks again to Scott Bender for the autographed pictures he gave away.  Regulars Billy Decker, Brian Vanbuskirk, and Dave Fitzgerald all struggled on the evening in different ways.  All in all it was a good fun night of racing which we were done by a little after 9 o’clock with 23 drivers and 25 laps on 8 lanes.  Kudos to the power men for keeping the show moving and getting the night done at a descent time.  Next race is Mods on the Tri-Oval.  Also the PA Tyco Series will be making an appearance at Randy’s Raceway on Sunday January 18, 2015 with Warm-ups at 10am and 1st Race at 12 noon not sure which track will be first.
