Randy’s Raceway Memorial Triple Crown Race Results from Tuesday, January 25, 2022.
Randy Jay Haydt scores the final leg of the Memorial Triple Crown Series & Clinches the Triple Crown Championship in dominating fashion.
Randy Jay Haydt came to race on Tuesday Night and he was well prepared for the final race of the Memorial Triple Crown Series. The race celebrated the memory of Bob Amore. Bob was a long time supporter of Randy’s Raceway. Bob produced and sold Modified Slot Car Bodies for many years. His mark left on the hobby still is in full swing still today as many people continue to race his product. All cars in the Tuesday field were racing an actual body that was produced by Bob. RIP Bob. Randy Jay Haydt was near perfect on Tuesday. Randy won all 6 segments and only deslotted 3 times. His 901 Mod was truly hooked up. Randy came into the night with a narrow point lead and was able to clinch the championship with the feature win. Matt Light finished 2nd. Matt had to race Randy as he was next to him in every segment. Matt with another strong run secured 2nd and top spot in the points. Eric Beard secured 3rd place with a strong run. Winning 2 segments on his run to the podium.

Memorial Notes:
17 racers in the pits. Thank You to everyone for the support of the Memorial Triple Crown Series. Awards for the series will be handed out during the Season Award Banquet. Good to have John Rutter join us for racing. It did not take John long to get up to speed on the Randy’s Raceway 8 Lane Oval. Bear, Mike Feltenberger was back behind a Hiester Mod this week. Always good to have Mike with us. I say this often – Tight racing is what makes racing so much fun. This race had 1 of the tightest finishes ever. Half a lap from 1-2 and 3rd. 4th place was only 2 track pieces from 5th. 5th beat 6th by only 1 track piece. 6th beat 7th by only 1 track piece. 4th to 7th was separated by 4 track pieces.
Congrats to Greg Leedy who won the Randy’s Raceway Giveaway Car.
