Sheldon Hiester Scores Berks Series Win

 

It was the final race of the season for the BLMRS on Saturday at Randy’s Raceway.  Before a season high of 21 racers, Sheldon Hiester scored 4 segment wins on way to a 1 lap win. Mark Williams had a strong start winning his 1st 4 segments turning in a strong 2nd place finish. Making his 1st start in the Berks Series Mike Fitzgerald scored 3 segment wins holding on to a close 3rd place finish. Just 4 pieces of track behind Scott Bender scored 1 segment win, his 2nd Top5 finish this year was 4th. Cory Reinhard scored 1 segment win holding on for a close 5th place finish.

Berks / Lebanon Racers at Their Best

Just 7 pieces of track behind, Toby Reinhard scored 2 segment wins to finish 6th. Trailing Toby by just 8 pieces of track, Wally Jabbs turned in 1 segment win to finish 7th. Randy Haydt scored 2 segment wins but a rare crash out for him on lane 8 made him settle for an 8th place finish. Fred Mccullouch also had a rare crash out on lane 5, but scored 2 segment wins to finish 9th, Tom Wenner was steady all day with 14’s finishing 10th.

Sheldon Hiester Scores Small Block Win

Capping off a sweep of the days racing Sheldon Hiester scored 4 segment wins on way to his 1st Small Block win. Also having a solid day Fred Mccullouch scored 1 segment win on way to his 2nd straight Runner Up finish. Making his 1st start in the Series Brian Sponagle scored 2 segment wins on the middle lanes for a 3rd place run. Just 12 pieces of track behind Randy Haydt scored 2 segment wins on way to a 4th place finish. Shane Hiester scored 1 segment win to finish 5th. Tom Wenner again had a steady run to come home with a 6th place effort. Trailing Tom by just 18 pieces of track Mike Fitzgerald finished off a good day with a 7th place finish. Mark Williams had a rare crash out on lane 8 but scored 3 segment wins to finish8th. Good day for Wally Jabbs who scored a 9th place finish. Billy Decker scored 2 segment wins on lanes 1&2 for a nice 10th place finish.

FAST FACTS: Good having Brian S, “Fitzy” and Rob L all in field for their 1st time. Close racing in B-Block as 5th- 9th were separated by just 1 lap. Good day for Wally J with 2 top 10’s. Tight racing in S-Block  as 6th -9th was separated by just 26 pieces of track.  We had 5 different feature winners in S-Block this year. Congrats to Mark on winning the his 2nd straight Big Block title and Randy Haydt on winning the Small Block title.
