Shane Hiester, Jim Levan Score Season Ending Wins

It was the final Cup race of the season on the Tri-Oval, and Shane Hiester capped off the year with his 3rd straight Cup win, scoring 3 segment wins, and locking up his 1st Cup championship at Randy’s Raceway. Sheldon Hiester scored 4 segment wins to keep alive his season long string of Top 5’s, came home 3rd. Randy Haydt scored 2 segment wins in his Skoal Bandit #33 finishing 3rd. Jim Levan scored 1 segment win to finish 4th, he also had all Top5 finishes during the year. Bob Amore closed out the Top 5 with a steady run including a segment win on Lane 2. [Read more…]

Veteran Bill Brenner Wins Season’s Final Mod Event

Veteran slot car racer of 5 decades Bill Brenner out of Manheim PA won the season’s final Modified feature is a stunner.  Brenner won 2 segments on lanes 2 and 3 and had all lead lap rune except lane 7.  Brenner powered the Eric Beard prepared car to the win.  This was the first ever feature win for the car builder from Gettysburg.  Shane Hiester wound up second and just missed winning by 6 pieces of track.  A win in Modified would have given the Shillington racer a feature win in every division this season.  Hiester won 3 segments on the night. St. Patty’s Day Race a Success at Randy’s Raceway

Racing, eating, and drinking the green stuff was just part of the time spent that the thirty racers did on Sunday at Randy’s Raceway Going Green St. Patty’s Day Race. The greatest part of the day was the time spent among fellow racers from five states sharing stories. These stories were about racing experiences, tuning cars, joking around, slot car collections, real cars, and just all the outright fun that can be had at a racing event we all can share later.
The weekend started on Saturday with a 12 noon to 5 pm practice. Some racers came by to take advantage of this time to set up their cars for the following race day; also the green stuff had arrived for all to enjoy. [Read more…]

Hiester’s Double Up

Shane Hiester made it 2 straight Cup wins this time on the Short Track. Running the Dupont#24 Shane scored 3 segment wins, on way to his 3rd Cup checkered flag of the year. Just 6 pieces of track behind Jim Levan scored 5 segment wins coming in a close 2nd. Billy Decker scored 1 segment win, his 3rd top 5 finish of the year for a 3rd place run. Making his 1st Cup start Tim “BigT” Bowers scored 2 segment wins turning in a good 4th place finish.
