Jim LeVan scores a dominating NASCAR victory on the Aurora Tub Track

Veteran Driver Jim LeVan scored a dominating feature win on Tuesday, November 26 on the Aurora Tub Track road course. Jim LeVan has served notice that he is loaded to win. LeVan dominated action on Tuesday scoring all 6 segment wins while only falling off 1 time and it was in lane 6 late in the segment. Jim ran a near flawless race and was a awarded the victory lane laurels. Finishing in 2nd Place was invader Nick Wummer who is always very strong in road course action, Nick scored 3 segment wins while on the way to the runnerup position. Cory Reinhard Scores 2nd Modified Win

Modified racing was back on the 8 lane fast track Tuesday night  and Cory Reinhard scored a convincing win scoring 7 segment wins to claim first. It was Cory’s 5th straight Top 2 finish. Mike Fitzgerald turned in his best run on the 8 lane as he scored 2 segment wins on way to a solid 2nd place finish. Capping off a good night for TCS racing, Toby Reinhard scored 3 segment wins as he “coasted” to a good 3rd place finish. Scott Bender did not score a segment win but scored his 1st top 5 finish coming home 4th. After trying to get his “Hot Stock” past tech Randy Haydt ran his Freddy Adam coupe to a 5th place finish. Just 12 pieces of track behind, Tom Wenner scored 3 segment wins to finish 6th. Trailing Tom by just 5 pieces of track Mark Williams finished 7th. Tim “ Little T ” Bowers  scored 2 segment wins to finish 8th. Last weeks winner Jim LeVan finished 9th and Billy Decker scored his 5th top 10 finished to close out the top10.

PIT TALK:

Another strong field of 20 racers were in the pits. It was the 2nd time this year. Close racing in the mid pack as 4th to 8th were separated by less than 1 lap. Good having Bill Rowley and Bruce Komaldi making their 1st starts of the season. Next Week Cup racing on the Tub Track.

Randy Haydt “SWEEPS” IROC Season Opener

The IROC season opened with a doubleheader on the Tub-Track 17 racers were in the pit area and in the Opener Randy Haydt  scored 2 segment wins on way to a close win. Just 12 pieces of track behind Brian Sponagle claimed 3 segment wins on way to a good Runner Up finish. Trailing “Spoons ” by just 14 pieces of track Jim LeVan scored 1 segment win to finish 3rd. Good run by Hiriam Durant as he scored 1 segment win to finish 4th. Scott Bender scored his best Tub Track finish scoring 1 segment win to finish 5th. [Read more…]

Jim LeVan Scores First Modified Win

A good night of racing on the the Tri-Oval, as Jim Levan scored his 1st Modified win of the year. It was a “photo finish” at the wire as Jim held off  a strong run by Cory Reinhard by 1 piece of track to get the checkered flag. Jim scored 2 segment wins on lanes 2&3, while Cory scored 3 segment wins on the front 3 lanes, it was his 4th straight Top 2 finish. Less than 1 lap behind Randy Haydt ran his Miami Dolphin car to 3 segment wins but had a bad run on lane 6 and still had a good 3rd place finish. Brian Sponagle continued his good runs on the Tri-Oval, had a slow start on lanes 1&2 but came on strong winning his final 4 segments to come home 4th. [Read more…]

Tom Wenner Scores First Sprint Win

It was race 2 of the season for the Sprint cars Tuesday night and Tom Wenner collected his 1st career winged victory.  Tom scored 6 segment wins in his Billy Pauch sprint car and had to hold off a strong challenge from Runner-Up Randy Haydt who just missed out on his 1st win by 11 pieces of track. Randy scored 2 segment wins. Opening night winner Mark Williams scored a segment win on lane 8 was 3rd. Jim Levan had a steady run scoring 1 segment win to finish 4th. Scott Bender scored 1 segment win on lane 2 was 5th.

Tear Offs: Brian V. had a new car and finished 8th Larry S had a good 9th place finish. Sorry to report the bad news that “Spanky” did not survive his mishap with Randy last week in the infield. Next Week Modifieds back on the Tri-Oval.
