CHRISTMAS PARTY AT RANDY’S RACEWAY

Please come hungry on Tuesday night December 23rd we will have a Christmas party before and during the nights racing activities.

Williams Over Beard in Modified Main

Mark Williams won his third feature in a row beating a hard charging Eric Beard by only 25 pieces of track.  Williams won 7 segments compared to Beard who won 4.  Third spot on the night which saw 18 racers on hand was Sheldon Hiester (4 seg) followed by Shane Hiester (2 seg) and rounding out the top five was Jim Levan.
Notes-
Missing this week were Brian Sponagle and Mike Fitzgerald we hope to see them back in competition soon.  Toby Reinhard seemed to have his car working well this week and just missed the top ten.

Williams Wins Fourth

Mark Williams won his third Modified feature in a row and fourth of the season at Randy’s Raceway on Tuesday night.  Williams won 5 segments in his Kenny Gilmore built racer.  Second position went to Sheldon Hiester, winner of 3 segments on all of the even lanes.  Third spot was Shane Hiester who was not in the top 2 for just the first time this season.  Shane won 4 segments on the evening.  Veteran Jim Levan was fourth with strong runs on all 6 lanes in his white and orange colored car.  [Read more…]

Williams Wins Mod Race

Mark Williams scored the win in the Modified feature on the 8 lane at Randy’s Raceway in Kutztown PA.  Williams won 7 segments and runner up Shane Hiester kept him from a perfect run beating the #7 on lane 1 at the line.  Hiester wound up second on the night for the 3rd time this season winning 3 segments.  Third spot went to Sheldon Hiester winner of 2 segments.  In his best run of the season Mike Fitzgerald was 4th[Read more…]

Williams Wins Modified Show

Mark Williams became the first repeat winner this season in the Modified ranks at Randy’s Raceway.  A nice field of 18 drivers signed in for the event on the Tricky Tri-Oval.  Let’s call it the backward dogleg and see who lands in section 17.  Williams won 4 segments including lane one to gain the victory and a slim 3 point lead early this season.  Brothers Shane and Sheldon Hiester wound up in a tie for second. Sheldon Hiester Takes Modified Race Number Three

Sheldon Hiester became the first two time feature winner this season at Randy’s Raceway taking the win on the 8 lane oval.  Sheldon previously won a Sportsman event.  He won 4 segments on his way to a 1 lap and 1 segment win over his brother Shane.  Shane Hiester won 2 segments and is the early season points tie in the Modified division.  Third spot went to Veteran racer and promoter Big T.  Tim Bowers making a rare start won a single segment on lane 5 and battled hard with Shane Hiester and Mark williams in many races to earn a nice finish.  [Read more…]

Shane Hiester Takes First Mod Win on the Tri-Oval

Veteran Shane Hiester had no problem winning the first Modified Feature on the relocated Tri-Oval.  Hiester won 4 segments and outdistanced 2nd place by almost a lap.  Bryan Kisthart wound up second with a real strong run winning 5 segments and only struggling a bit on lane 5.  Third spot was veteran Jim Levan who earned his best finish of the season winning lane 6 and staying on the lead lap in every race.  Fourth position was Mark Williams who won 4 segments but struggled in lane one on the bubble.  Rounding out the top five was Race winner’s older brother Sheldon Hiester who won a single segment but crashed out on lane 3.  When was the last time that ever happened.

WILLIAMS TAKES OPENER

Mark Williams won the Modified opener at Randy’s Raceway to kick off the 2014/2015 season at the Berks County Track.  Williams kept falloffs to a minimum and scored the victory with 6 segment wins.  Second spot went to last years opener winner Shane Hiester who was very fast all night.  Hiester won 4 segments and only struggled on lane 7.  Third position went to the Gettysburg racer Eric Beard who won 5 segments in his #18 racer.  This was a good start for Beard racing who also had another car in the top ten on the evening.  [Read more…]

MODIFIED SEASON WRAP

29 Racers entered events during the 13th season of action at Randy’s Raceway in Kutztown, PA.  The 2013-2014 season began and ended with Shane Hiester taking feature wins and cementing his second place finish in the season Points Championship.  In between those two races Mark Williams won all the rest of the features except one that Brett Gilmore won on Nov. 5th in his only appearance this year.  Williams won 12 events in the team Gilmore stables.  Randy’s Raceway Rookie of the year Randy Stitzel managed a 17th place finish in the point run this season in his first full season.  Most Improved driver this season Brian Sponagle finished 11th in points and picked up a segment win as well.  Brian had 2 top ten finishes along the way.

25th-29th
Mike Feltenberger was 25th winner of 3 segments and had a top five finish in two outings.  Brett Gilmore was 26th with just a single appearance, picking up his 44th career Modified feature win, tying him all time with his Dad in that category.  Next came two ageless slot car veterans Sam Heller and Phil Levering with Adam Zapacosta finishing 29th. Annual Awards Banquet Well Attended

The 13th annual Randy’s Raceway Awards night was held in early April and over 25 attended the event.  Awards were presented along with point money and many door prizes.  Brian Sponagel was named Most Improved Driver this year and Randy Stitzel won Modified Rookie of the year.  The Banquet race had 18 entries and the Road Course Veteran Bryan Kisthart won the event on the tight Tub track.  Shane Hiester was second followed by Randy Haydt, Toby Reinhard and Mark Williams.
