Williams, Sponagle 1-2 in Modified Feature on Tri-Oval
Current Point Leader Mark Williams won his 5th feature of the season on the tough Tri-Oval Tuesday night at Randy’s Raceway. Brian Sponagle wheeled his Umbanhauer #5 to a strong second place run. Williams won 5 segments just missing on lane six to Randy Haydt while Spoons won lanes one through three. Jim LeVan Gets 1st Cup Win
Cup racing returned to Randy’s Raceway on the fast 8 lane Tuesday night and Jim LeVan ended a long string of Top 5 run’s to finally score his 1st Cup win of the season. Running his Coors Lite # 40 Jim rebounded from major body damage from the previous race on the Tri-Oval (RANDY) to score 2 segment wins on way to a close win. Just 23 pieces of track behind Mark Williams trying to make it 2 Cup wins in a row scored 3 segment wins for a good 2nd place run. Trailing Mark by only21 pieces of track Randy Haydt ran the Kodiak # 27 to 1 segment win on lane 8 to come home 3rd. [Read more…]
Bryan Kisthardt, Mark Williams Score Tuesday Night Wins
Sprint car racing and IROC racing returned to the 8 lane on Tuesday night at Randy’s Raceway with the sprints leading off and Bryan Kisthardt scored 5 segment wins in his Fred Rahmer #51 on way to his 1st career Sprint car win. Bryan’s win was only 18 pieces of track ahead of Scott Bender who scored 2 segment wins to finish 2nd. Mark Williams Scores 2nd Cup Win
Doubleheader action returned to Randy’s Raceway on the Tri-Oval Tuesday night and in the NASCAR opener Mark Williams scored 4 segment wins to claim his 2nd Cup win of the season. Point Leader Bryan Kisthardt scored 5 segment wins but a bad run on lane 1 hurt his chances for the win. Only 12 pieces of track behind always steady Jim LeVan didn’t win a segment but collected his best Cup finish of the year coming home 3rd. [Read more…]
Kisthardt Wins Modified
Bryan Kisthardt won for the fifth time this season in a field of 14 racers on the Tri-Oval. The Leigh County Racer won 5 segments to grab the win over point leader Mark Williams who won 4 segments. The margin of victory was just 13 pieces of track. Third spot went to the Chucky machine driven by Randy Haydt. The racing promoter won 3 segments on the night. [Read more…]
Scott Bender Scores Close Sprint Car Win
Sprint car racing opened the 2nd half of the season at Randy’s Raceway and Scott Bender scored his 3rd straight win of the season. Scott scored 4 segment wins on way to the win which was by only 29 pieces of track ahead of runner up finisher Mark Williams who ran his Zemco #1 to 2 segment wins. Steve Harvey ( I MEAN ) Randy Haydt scored his best Sprint car finish of the year finishing 3rd, scoring 3 segment wins on the middle lanes. [Read more…]
Williams Wins Modified on Scott Benders Photo Night
Mark Williams won his third Modified main in a row and fourth of the season this week after taking 6 segment wins in the Holiday special 25 lappers. Williams ran the GTB car to wins on lanes 2 through 7 in another spirited battle with up and coming Cory Reinhard. Cory finished second for the second straight Modified event in his fast Modified wrenched by Dad Toby. The younger Reinhard was very consistent with only 9 falloffs in his score of 196.34 including 4 segment wins. It only looks like a matter of time until Cory breaks into the winners circle.
Brian Sponagle Scores First Career Win
It was the annual Road Course race at Randy’s Raceway on Tuesday night for the NASCAR Cup car, and the 1st ever IROC race on the Road Course and in the opener Brian Sponagle turned in his 1st career win on the Road Course. Running timed 2 minute segments, Brian totaled 209 laps to score the win. Brian’s win makes him the 3rd different winner in Cup action this year. Just 2 laps off the pace Randy Haydt scored a solid 2nd place finish. Cory Reinhard continued a good season with a 3rd place effort his 2nd Top 5 Cup finish. Only 1 lap behind Jim LeVan collected his 4th straight 4th place finish.
