Kenny Gilmore Scores Cup Win

Cup racing returned to Randy’s Raceway for race 5 of the season on the 8 lane fast track and Kenny Gilmore made his 1st appearance in over a year racing to a win. Kenny scored 6 segment wins on way to the win. Coming off his win on the Road Course Bryan Kisthart turned in a strong effort scoring 5 segment wins to come home with a runner up finish. Cup point leader Shane Hiester turned in a consistent run of 19’s on all 8 lanes to finish 3rd. Sheldon Hiester scored a segment win on lane 1 keeping his string of Top 5’s alive with a 4th place finish. Bryan Kisthart Scores Road Course Win

It was the 2nd annual NASCAR Cup race on the Road Course at Randy’s Raceway and Bryan Kisthart ended a long string of Top 5 runs, as he collected his 1st career win. Bryan’s win was 3 laps over last year’s winner Jim Levan who scored his best Cup finish this year coming home 2nd. Shane Hiester turned in a steady 3rd place finish ahead of brother Sheldon Hiester who finished 4th, both making their initial starts on the Road Course. Sheldon Hiester Sweeps to Cup Win

Sprint cup racing returned to the Tri-Oval Tuesday night at Randy’s Raceway and Sheldon Hiester ran his Goodwrench #29 to a convincing win. Sheldon won all 6 segments on way to his 1st Cup win of the season. Shane Hiester scored 4 segment wins turning in a good runner -up finish. Hiester’s Take Two

It was the 1st twin bill of the season at Randy’s Raceway with Sprint Cup action leading off the night as Shane Hiester ran the Miller Lite # 2 to 5 segment wins on way to his 1st Cup win of the season. Mark Williams Nets 1st Sportsman Win

Sportsmen racing returned to Randy’s Raceway for it’s 2nd race of the season, and it’s 1st on the Tri-Oval, and Mark Williams ran his brightly colored #7 to a close win. Mark claimed 4 segment wins on way to his 1st Sportsmen win. Shane Hiester(-12) scored 4 segment wins on way to a good 2nd place finish. Randy Haydt Wins Cup Opener

It was the season opener for Sprint Cup racing at Randy’s Raceway with the opening race of the 9 race season on the challenging Tri-Oval. It was track owner Randy Haydt collecting the opening night win, Randy scored 2 segment wins, including a win on lane 1.To change his luck Randy switched over to the silver Kodiak #41, instead of his usual Skoal Bandit #33 body. To finish off a good night Randy also took home the winning from the 50/50 drawing. Runner up honors went to Shane Hiester who won 4 segments running the Blue #2 Miller Lite machine, only 9 pieces of track behind. Mark Williams Scores First NASCAR Title

Going into this season it was going to be hard to top last season’s point battle when their was a tie for the point title and a 6 point difference behind the top 2, but this season was still very close and competitive. Mark Williams needed 2 season ending wins to secure his 1st NASCAR point title. After an opening night 6th place finish, Mark scored top 5 finishes the rest of the way, and 3 wins, locking up the title by only 15 points. Last years co-champ Sheldon Hiester turned in another strong season including 8 top 5 finishes, and 2 wins, to come home 2nd in the final standing. Bryan Kisthardt improved 3 spots, also notched 8 top 5 runs including 3 2nd place finishes for a very consistent 3rd place finish. [Read more…]

Rule Meeting Report

It was the season ending rules meeting held at Randy’s Raceway on Tuesday night among those who attended was Bob Amore, Billy Decker, Jim Levan, Mark and Jody Williams, Brian Vanbuskirk, and Tony Zappacosta.
Among the topics that were discussed:
IROC DIVISION: This division was discussed possibly running after NASCAR, only a 4-5 race season.
GEARS: All gears must now be legibly factory stamped.
CANCELLATIONS: If a Tuesday night is cancelled there will be no make up date.
FLAGGING: Will be asking for volunteers to flag on a rotating system.
TEAR DOWNS: Random tear downs will occur during the season in each class it will be the winner and 2 random picks from anywhere in the finishing order.
TIRE CHANGING: No tire changing in the middle of a segment.

50/50: There will be a box to put your losing tickets in with your name on the back, during the season there will be drawings among those tickets to win a prize.

Mark Williams Wins Sportsman Finale

The 9 race Sportsmen season concluded Tuesday night at Randy’s Raceway on the Tri-Oval and Mark Williams capped off the season with his 3rd straight win and 5th of the season scoring 4 segment wins. Only 1 lap behind Sheldon Hiester scored 2 segment wins for a good 2nd place run. Only 3 pieces of track behind Mike Fitzgerald won 2 segments for an impressive 3rd place finish. Trailing Mike by only 5 pieces of track, Shane Hiester scored 3 segment wins for his 8th Top 5 finish of the year, and a 4th place finish. [Read more…]

Mark Williams Takes Two

It was season ending Twin 15’s for the NASCAR Division on the 8 lane speedway at Randy’s Raceway and Mark Williams running the Budweiser #50 scored 7 segment wins on way to his 2nd win of the year. Only 1 lap of the pace Sheldon Hiester scored high 14’s, winning 1 segment to claim a solid 2nd place finish. Coming off a strong run on the Road Course Toby Reinhard ran his Purolator #21 to 2 segment wins for a career best Cup finish for a 3rd place finish. [Read more…]
