John Kosmoski, Shane Hiester Tie for RMS Win

It was the season’s final point race of the year at RMS on Sunday and John Kosmoski and Shane Hiester tied for the win. Each turned in exact scores on all 4 lanes, winning 2 segments on lanes 1 & 2, both recording their 1st RMS win. Mike Fitzpatrick scored 1 segment win on way to a steady 3rd place run. Sheldon Hiester scored 1 segment win claiming a 4th place finish. Scott Bender scored 1 segment win on way to a 5th place finish.

Congrats to Rich Schmidt this years point champion. And thanks for the pizza that was supplied for everyone. Next year look for a new T-Jet division to be started that will be run after the Storm race. Check back for the year in review, and summer test dates.

Bob Amore, Shane Hiester Score Season Ending Wins

It was the final Cup race of the season on the Tri-Oval, and Bob Amore turned in his 1st win of the year. Bob scored 5 segment wins becoming the 5th different winner in the 9-race season. Early season winner Jim Levan turned in a good run winning 3 segments to finish 2nd.Scott Bender turned in a season best 3rd place finish scoring 3 segment wins. Haydt Scores Close Cup Win

Cup racing returned to the Short Track and yet another down to the wire race as Randy Haydt scored 5 segment wins as he “coasted” to his 4th Cup win of the year. It was only 6 pieces of track, as Mark Williams turned in his best Cup run since opening day, winning 5 segments for a 2nd place finish. Only 17 pieces of track behind, Shane Hiester continued his impressive run of top 5 finishes, scoring 3 segment wins, for a 3rd place finish. [Read more…]

Kenny Gilmore Wins Sprint Car 40

The rescheduled Sprint Car 40 lap was run on Wednesday night and Kenny Gilmore again turned in a dominating run as he cruised to the win, scoring 6 segment wins. Randy Haydt ran his Skoal Bandit #33 to a good 2nd place finish scoring 3 segment wins. Sheldon Hiester won 2 segments to cross line the line with a 3rd place finish. [Read more…]

Billy Decker Collects 1st Cup Win

27lgIt was a good field of 18 racers for Cup racing on the 8 lane fast track, and Billy Decker ran his Nestle Crunch #32 to his 1st Cup win of the year. Billy scored 4 segment wins becoming the 4th different winner in this very competitive class. Less than 1 lap behind Shane Hiester scored 2 segment wins on way to his 6th top 5 finish of the year, with a solid 2nd place run. Only 1 piece of track off the pace Point Leader Randy Haydt had a bad run on lane 7, still won 4 segments to come home 3rd. Only 6 pieces of track behind Bob Amore scored 4 segment wins, his 3rd straight top 5 finish, to finish 4th. Mark Williams scored 3 segment wins, his 5th top 5 finish of the year for a 5th place run. Haydt Scores Third Cup Win

After a long break the Cup season resumed on the Tri-Oval and Randy Haydt scored his 2nd straight win and 3rd of the season, winning 3 segments. Sheldon Hiester registered his best Cup run of the year, winning 3 segments to come home 2nd. Mark Williams scored 2 segment wins, including a win on lane 1 turning in a 3rd place effort.

Gilmore, Williams Sweeps to Wins

Brett Gilmore made his 1st Cup start of the season a sweep on way to the win on the Tri-Oval. It was the 3rd different winner in this division. Opening night winner Randy Haydt scored 3 segment wins, on way to a 2nd place finish. Less than 1 lap behind, Sheldon Hiester scored 3 segment wins, winning on lanes 1 & 2, to come home 3rd. Only 12 pieces of track behind was Jim Levan winning 1 segment, on way to a 4th place finish. Mark Williams had a slow start on lanes 1 & 2 ( mostly because he had to deal with Randy at the scoring table most of the night ) but still scored 2 segment wins finishing 5th.

Levan Wins Cup / Williams Scores Sprint Win

The second Cup race of the year was on Monks short track, it was another competitive race as Jim Levan scored his 1st Cup win of the year. Jim won 4 segments on lanes 1-4, on way to the win. Only 20 pieces of track behind Shane Hiester scored 3 segment wins turning in a strong 2nd place effort. Last Years Cup champion Bob Amore continued his strong runs on the short track scoring 2 segment wins to finish 3rd. Sheldon Hiester won 2 segments to claim a 4th place finish. Mark Williams won1 segment to round out the top 5. 6th Scott Bender – 7th Randy Haydt – 8th Brett Gilmore (4wins) – 9th Toby Reinhard – 10th Billy Decker.

Brett Gilmore scored his 2nd modified win of the year winning all 8 segments on way to almost a perfect night with only 1 come off. Shane Hiester turned in a strong 2nd place run, winning 2 segments. Eric Beard continued his strong early season winning 4 segments on lanes 1-4 finished 3rd. Alex Amore making his 1st start of the year won 2 segments finishing 4th.
