Tuesday night January 27 was the 6th Race of the season for the Sportsman Division at Randy’s Raceway. Their were 14 drivers in attendance for the vent, and taking the victory was Mark Williams who won all 6 segments en-route to his 5th win in the division on the season. Second place went to Shane Hiester who won 3 segments on the evening who ran well all night long. Third went to Sheldon HIester who didn’t win a segment all night long, but still was strong and consistent all night long. Fourth went to Bryan Kisthart who won 2 segments on the night turning in his 3 Top 5 of the season in the Sportsman division. Rounding out the top 5 in fifth was Mike Fitzgerald who won 1 segment on the evening. The rest of the Top 10 ended up like this: 6-Brian Sponagle, 7-Randy Haydt (1 win), 8-Mike Feltenberger (1 win), 9-Scott Bender, and 10-Cory Reinhard. The racing was good all night long, but the track seemed to be a little trickier then normal as the fall offs for some people seemed to be higher then normal for those people, but even with people having more fall offs they still turned in good finishes.
Sportsman Twin 15’s Story
Tuesday November 4, were the 3rd & 4th Sportsman races of the 2014-2015 season at Randy’s Raceway. There were 15 racers on hand to participate in the double show. Taking the win in the 1st 15 Lapper was Mark Williams. Mark drove his car to 6 segment wins in the event. Second spot went to Sheldon Hiester who lost by 17 sections to Mark. Sheldon won 3 segments on the night. Third place went to Shane Hiester who lost to Sheldon by only 12 sections. Shane won 4 segments on the night. Holiday Sportsman Event Races to a Tie
Thursday December 26, was the annual Christmas Special at Randy’s Raceway, and this year the event was a 25 Lap race for the Sportsman Division and the event was sponsored by Scott Bender Racing Photos and Chris Budihas Photography who gave some Modified Picture Magnets to hand out as door prizes. So a big Thank You to Scott and Chris for the door prizes. Now to the racing, their were 20 drivers on hand for the event, and tying for the victory with perfect scores were Mark Williams and Sheldon Hiester who both ended up with a total of 200 laps for the night. Shane Hiester Takes Control of Tri-Oval Perfectly in Sportsman
The 2nd Race of the season for the Sportsman Division took place on Tuesday Night on the Tri-Oval, and 2 Time and defending Sportsman Champion Shane Hiester won the race by winning all 6 segments on the night. Second place went to Bryan Kisthart who won 4 segments on the night in a strong run again. This T-jet racer is starting to get good in the magnet cars, look out for his 1st win to come sometime soon. Randy Haydt Takes First Feature Win of the Year
On Tuesday night February 26 the Sportsman Division was back in action at Randy’s Raceway on the Short Track. This will be for the last time this season and for good as the track has been sold and will be leaving Randy’s basement at the end of the racing season. There were 20 racers on hand and participated in the event. Taking the win was Randy Haydt who won 3 segments in route to the victory for the first time this season in a Shane Hiester prepared car. Randy looked to be having fun and drove that way as he was smooth all night long and payed off with him getting a well deserved victory. Sheldon Hiester Takes Win In Mods on the 8 Lane
Tuesday night January 8 was the first race of the New Year at Randy’s Raceway and it was for the Modified Division on the 8 Lane Oval. There were 15 racers in attendance for the event, and taking the event win was veteran Sheldon Hiester, who won 3 segments on his way to the victory. Second on the evening went to another veteran Jim Levan, who ran well and strong all night long. Jim won 4 segments on the way to his 2nd place finish. Sheldon Hiester Wins Sportsman Tri-Oval Race
Tuesday December 18, at Randy’s Raceway had the Sportsman Division back in action on the tricky 6 lane Tri-Oval. There were 17 drivers on hand for the event, and taking the victory was Sheldon Hiester, who won 4 segments on the night. Finishing second in a strong run only 4 sections back of the winner was Fred McCullough, who won his first 5 segments, but then had to come back on and race Lane 1 for the last race of the evening and he got beat that race for his only segment loss which ended up taking him out of a victory. Jim Levan and Shane Hiester Take Home Wins
Tuesday September 25th was the second races of the season for the Sportsman Class and the NASCAR Class at Randy’s Raceway on the “Tricky” Tri-Oval. The night started of with the Sportsman race running first on the card. A strong field of 17 racers took part in the event, with the victory going to Jim Levan in his 1st start of the season in the Sportsman class. Jim won 5 of his 6 segments enroute to his victory. Second went to Sheldon Hiester who lost by only 1 track section, winning 4 segments on the night. Third went to Shane Hiester who ran well all night winning 2 segments on the night in a strong run. Freddy Mac and Rookie Kevin Sponagle Claim Victories In Double Header
Tuesday Night we were up on the Tri-Oval for the first time this season with races for the Sportsman and IROC divisions. We had 10 racers on hand that participated in each event. In the Sportsman race Fred McCullough took the victory winning 4 of his 6 segments on road to his victory. Second went to Randy Haydt who won 1 segment in his strong run on the Tri-Oval. Hiester Twins Sweep Sprtsman and IROC Series Openers
Tuesday Night at Randy’s Raceway were the openers for the Sportsman and IROC classes. In the Sportsman it was Sheldon Hiester taking the victory, winning 4 out of the 6 segments on his way to the victory. Second place went to Bob Amore, who won 5 segments on the night on his way to a strong second place finish.
